Glass History, une IQ26 OME 'wit has sagaciously remarked that the sophomore is one who knows not and knows that he knows not, thus distinguishing those of our kind from the freshmen who know not and know not that they know not, and from the juniors and the seniors who, in turn, know and know not that they know and, know and know that they know. Realizing, then, that we are sophomores, it would be folly for us to even attempt to prepare a second chapter of the history of the class of june 1926, were we not aware that while yet sophomores, we are nevertheless in a transitional state-are embryonic juniors, so to speak. While the joy of a prospective graduation from freshmanhood was still rife among us we elected cflicers for the ccming year. Our choices were deliberate and, as later events evidenced, sound. We elected for our president, F. O. Bartlett of Rockland, Maine, for secretary, Hildred Colquhoun of Ledue, Alta, Canada, for vicefpresident, Richard DeWitt of Kirksvilleg and for treasurer, Albert Guy of Kirksville. We refelected G. H, Meyers as our representative on the student council. Upon our return to school this fall we discovered that several of our number were missing. Despite this fact the autumn registration has considerably lengthened our class roll. As behooves those in whose hands had been placed the matter of affording a proper reception to the entering the paddling line in keeping with honored customs at the A. S. O. Following, we class, we began such activities early. The initial activity was afforded the citizens of Kirksville an opportunity to judge of the caliber of the freshman class, this too, being done in the customary way. Rules of conduct were established for the beginners. For the most part, these rules were observed to the minute. The class was apt, the lessons learned and the members given complete liberty long before the expiration of the original term of parole. - Upon one occasion the freshman class rushed us as we were assembled in Memorial Hall. We sense no chagrin in stating that we were literally thrown from our stronghold. We were and we were be with the whole scho in which numbers were even we easily demonstrated our superiority. cause of the overwhelming number of the beginners. We rejoiced ol that the freshman class at the A. S. O. was so large. Later, in matched games We defeated the green c ass ome submissive we feted them in the gymnasium. l in baseball and in basketball. After compelling the freshmen to bec Our class has contributed members to every student organization on the campus and has taken a lively part in all school activities.
