65155 MOI? QC, Here it is, May 27, 1970-just 15 years since graduation. We, President Waymon Gaither and Secretary nf the Army General Anthony B. Durham, are beginning a world-wide tour. The tour begins in the town of our Alma Mater, Chattanooga, Tennessee, at Kirkman Vocational High School where Mr. Roy B. Bradley is teaching in Mr. Keller's place, along with Alfred Hinkle who teaches print, James Smith who is Mr. Sam Jones' assistant in welding, and ,Ie nette Blankenship and Zella Kibble who are substitute teachers. Wanda Bullnf-It is now State Advisor of T 8x FClubs of Tennessee. We leave the school and decide to walk downtown, on our way we see many of our former classmates. There are Danny Miller, Jackie Morton, John Torrence, Leon Baugh and Dickie Jackson sweeping up the con- fetti from the circus parade. The big attraction is the famous Siamese Twins, Mary Glenn jones and Jean New- man. And who should we see taking her many kids to the circus--no one but Shelby Dunn! We go down a few more blocks and see Geraldine Giles, and upon talking with her we find she is now manager of the Capitol Theatre. We meet Ralph Monds who says he owns his own welding shop. We visit the shop and are surprised to find Billy Davidson and Alfred Plummer working for him. For relaxation we go to the Speedway at Moccasin Bend. We look over the race sheet and see that Jack Phillips, Harry Morgan, and William Gothard are to drive in the next race. We though sure we would see Tommy McNabb, but after further questioning we found he was operating a lemonade stand on Soddy Mt. We had a chance to talk to the boys so we asked who usouped up their cars. The reply was none other than Fred Howard. Fred said he had done some work on David Mattil's car, and because of this David was taking a 6-months rest in the hospital. We visit the T. V. A. and see a number of our students on various jobs. Some we see are Bill Orton, Richard Bush, and Bill Cowart, who are employed as their A-I Mechanical Engineers. Paul Malone, Earnest Combs, and Lebron Brown are Electrical Engineers. Working in the first-aid station we see Earline Legg and Barbara Poe. Next we see Edna Cox as Business Manager of the T. V. A. She tells us to be sure and visit the President, who, to our surprise, is Jack Parsons. With him were his two private secretaries, Lottie Suttles and Barbara Barnes. We leave the T. V. A. and go to the Clements-Rucks' Printing Co. where Charles and Thomas are over- flowing with business announcing Margie Gaylon's second set of twins. We decide to visit her at the hospital, and there we find Jean Philips, Head of the Nursing Staff. Bernice Haven is one of the many nurses we see in the hall. Pat White, who is now married, is also at the hospital visiting with Margie. She has nine children. From the hospital we go to Kress 5 BL 10 Store. To our surprise we find Thelma Christian is now the man- ager. After talking with Thelma we walk over to the Record Department. George Axmacher is buying a stack of hillbilly records recorded by Randall Marler, who is Singing Star of the Grand Ole Opry. We ask George what he is doing these days, and he replies that he is taking life easy just listening to his record collec- tion. We go down the street a little farther and see the opening of a new reducing salon whose owner is Earnestine Boling. Her able assistants are Mary Jo Moore and Mary Ann Davidson. We learn from them that Shirley Holcomb is now Executive Director of Blue Cross, and that Carol DeSha, June Burkhart, and Margaret Gahan are working with her. Before we leave Chattanooga we decide that we should have our car checked.. We stop by joe's Garagef' and are very much surprised to learn that our old friend Joe McGarvey is the owner. Eugene Cooper is top mechanic at the garage. We asked Eugene if he knew anything about J. C. Conner and to our astonishment, he tells us thatj. C. is sailing the Seven Seas. From Chattanooga we go to Baltimore, Maryland, and hold a conference with Governor Donald Lockard. It just so happens that he and his secretary, Mary Garner, are in Baltimore at the time. Don and Mary go with us to the john Hopkins Hospital, where Berlindine Moore, who is married to a millionnaire playboy, is taking a rest. Renette Laney is Head of the Doctor's Staff there. Johnnie Faye Grant, Fathia Harris, and jackie Fults are among the Registered Nurses at John Hopkins. After talking to them, we walk down the hall and see Bobbie Brown and Betty Lackey. They inform us they are doing a great job with their work as psychiatrists. We leave Maryland and go to New York. We need to relax so we go out to the Yankee Ball Park. After the game we talk to U. S. Myers, who is the New York Yankees' Manager. He has a fine team. While going to the car we see Larry Lanham. He tells us he is a wrestling referee here in New York City. Later we see Gary Denham taking his two private secretaries, Willodean Hale and Jean Thomas to dinner. Gary is now President of a hig firm in the Empire State Building. 419

jean Woodward is a Powers Model and we hear she is doing a swell job as head model. She should with all that beauty. Kenneth Shull now owns the jet Airline Company. They fly non-stop from New York to Paris in 6 hours. Some of his flyers are Charles Seabolt, Hosea Sessions, and William Rogers. While talking about flyers and flying, we hear that James Boyd, James Langley, and Thomas Galbraith are all pilots in the U. S. Air Force. B. L. Cofer is a Commander in the Navy, and he is trying to help Billy Belcherdlmring his rating up. Philip Phillips is now a Captain in the U. S. Army. Ruth Phelps is a stewardess in the . A. F. We hear that Virginia Beavers is a private secretary to a Private in the Marine Corps. Virginia informs us that Opal Stokes has just won the Nobel Prize for Acting in Shakespearean plays. From New York we journey to Canada where we see Peggy Breeden chugging down the highway in her '48 Chevvy, trying to make it to Florida before her car Rl falls apart. From Canada we go to Washington, where gwe visit Commander Fred Geer of the U. S. Coast Guard, who is helping to stop wars before they start. Patsy Brock, Senator from Tennessee, is now in session with Congress. Emmeline Conner is Private Secretary to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Shirley Lewis is President of the,United Nations, and is doing a worthwhile job. Lenora Walker is Ambassador to Russia. Wesley Norman is a cabinet builder in Washington. All his wood is hand carved by the most famous,men in the U. S. Next we visit Pasadena to see,the Rose Bowl. No. 66 looks familiar, so we strain our eyes to see if we know him. Much to our surprise it is our old classmate james Ivey. Also playing are his 'many sons, like Father, like Son. This is truly a football team like Gaye Stapp always wanted Down in Santa Anna, Martha Goggins' Horse Ranch is the biggest and best. Bill Ashburn is a jockey on Martha's ranch, and has brought in some of Melvin Carter's Winning Horses. There's only one who could groom them well enough to show off, and that is John Sisk. Leroy Cunningham has a string of night clubs out near Hollywood, and he does a booming business. Some frequent visitors are Edith Clemons, owner of Paramount Theatresg Bill Hayworth, who is currently starred in a picture with his namesake Rita g Carolyn Gass, hairstylist and make-up artist for Universal-In- ternationalg Albert Johnson, a millionnaire playboy and his maid, Jeanette Johnson. We ask if he plans to marry. His reply is, Oh, I am married! My wife Delores Smith is home with the kids. Last but not least is Randall McCoy, who is stand-in for Mario Lanza. DeWillis Davis owns a New SL Used Car business-trades the stars ears. Raymond Akins and Eugene Morgan are living dangerously, they test Jet Autos. Robert Russell has become famous for his many symphonies and also does lyric writings. Joyce Cox sings these. David Perry and Gerald Mowery have gone together into T. V. work. Gerald installs them, and David tries them out. William Monds has made a name for himself by being the first person to swim the Atlantic Ocean, and Charles Holcomb helped financially! Don Dunn has taken Norman Rockwell's place, and has made Van Gough and Rembrandt look like house painters! Texas! Our next stop-and very interesting. Arthur Keith is owner of a Petroleum industry and sells gasoline for National Service Stations, Inc. Dennie Nation is just resting-looking over his oil wells. Roy Mid- dlebrooks has a chain of stores, and drives a 1965 Cadillac. In Hawaii we encounter jack Pell. Jack tells us he sings with a band, and some of our former friends are on the program. They are the famous Lei Dancers,' Doris Ritchie, Patsy Locklear, and Bettye Payne. On to japan, where Robert Kennedy is head of the Board of Directors of a silk mill that manufactures Dental Floss for Caterpillars. Africa, our last stop, then home! The first we see is Billy Smith, a professional big game hunter. And last, before we start for home, James Gravitt, a Missionary. gives us his spiritual blessings before we board our plane. In the distance the mist creeps up, gradually closing another chapter in our lives. The rhythm of our Alma Mater dies away slowly-Good-bye! Good-bye! 50
