The game be- came a battle of defenses from the opening kickoff, with each team failing to gain very many first downs. Mid-way in the second quarter Kirklin received the ball on a punt from Mo'ton. A twenty-five yard pass from Buntin to Bob Price put the ball on the Morton two yard line. Good blocking allowed Buntin to sweep around right end to score the only touch- down of the game. The try for the extra point failed and the score stood 6-0. The teams played on about even terms for the rest of the game. 'A' KIRKLIN ROMPS OYER CHARLTON 63-0 On September 10th the Kirklin squad journeyed to Charlton CBoys' Schooll for a football game which turned out to be more of a track meet. The Tigers did not gain a first down until the middle of the third period, and then another in the last. It was easy to de- termine in the first quarter what the outcome of the game was to be. Touchdowns were made by: Loveless. McCoskey. Buntin. B. Price. Martin. Extra points were made by: Buntin. Martin, Stevenson. Douglass and from a safety. Two other touchdowns were made. one because of a penalty and the other by a referee's mis- take. A few minutes later Buntin tossed a 25 yard pass to right end. Bob Price, who was all alone in the end zone.
