TRACK Kirklin started its 1952 track season by breezing past Dayton on a chilly April afternoon 70.39. Kirklin blanked Dayton in the shot put and broad jump and won both relays. Harris was the only double winner for Kirklin. TRI-MEET The second track meet saw Kirklin keeping its unbeaten record against county teams during the last four years. The score was as follows: Kirklin 6412, Scireleville 40, Little Jeff 3212. The Travelers eopped six first places and scored well in the others. TRAVELERS DEFEAT KEM PTON ln the third meet of the season Kirklin defeated Kempton 49112 to 4010. Kirklin had two double winners in Warburton and Douglass, and also both relays. The Travelers won seven of the thirteen blue ribbons. M-TOWN-MULBERRY In the second tri-meet of the season Kirklin continued its dominance of county teams by scoring 90 points to M'town's 65. and Mulberry's 26. The Travelers won nine first places and both relays. ROSSVILLE LOSES In the last meet before the county the Travelers amassed a total of 942.1 points to Rossville's 14141 to remain undefeated. Kirklin won all thirteen first places and all but two of the second place ribbons. COUNTY TRACK M EET The annual Clinton County Track and Field Meet was held May 5. 1952, at Frankfort. Kirklin won its fourth straight county track crown. In winning the meet the Travelers won seven first places. four seconds, five thirds. two fourths. and one fifth. Kirklin scored in every event and was responsible for breaking four county records. Warburton and Hackett broke the low hurdle record. as they ran them in 23.7 seconds. Rinehart heaved the shot 43'41: to up the record eight inches, Price lowered the record in the half mile run to 2:17. The other record broken by Kirklin was the mile relay.
