William Perry TRAINEE. received his Bachelor of Business Ad- ministration Degree at Memphis State University. He was commissioned Ensign. United States Naval Reserve, on 25 September 1959 at Officers' Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island, Class 44. On 1 October 1963 he was accepted for augmentation and received his commission in the United States Navy. Lieutenant Commander TRAINER's initial service at sea was as Communications Officer and later Operations Officer in USS WALLER KDDE 4663. He than served as Executive Officer and Navigator of USS FORTIFY cmso 4463 and Com- manding Ofiicer of USS SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY KL81' 11221. Included in his service ashore were duties as Oceanographic Watch Officer at U.S. Naval Facility. Bermuda, Naval Tactical Data System Instructor at U.S. Fleet Anti-Air Warfare Train- ing Center, San Diego, and Shipboard Project Of- ficer, Oiiice of the Chief of Naval Operations, Management Information Systems Division Washington, D.C. 1 Prior to reporting as Executive Ofiicer. USS KIRK CDE 10871. Lieutenant Commander TRAINER was the Personnel Administrative Of- ficer and Commanding Officer, Staff Enlisted Per- sonnel. on the combined staff of Commander, U.S. Naval Forces.
