Senwr Class H :story In th an ot '55, fourteen members enrolled at Klpp Hugh School They were Peggy Watt Mary elster Elame Swanson Sharon Sharack Joy Reese Carolyn Kogler Anita Shelby Robert McFarlane Roger Bachofer, Richard Martln Don Johnson, Gary Robbins, Dennls Ash and Glenn Satterlee chose Coach Droegemeler for our sponsor The class offlcers elected were as follows President Gary Robbins Vlce Presldent Peggy Watt Secretary Treasurer Glenn Satterlee All the boys went out for basketball and baseball except Robert, and Peggy Watt and Mary Lelster were cheerleaders thas year Peggy and Gary were on the Oriole Staff As we entered the sophomore year un 56 we had the same enrollment with the addntron of Don Nelson Anita Shelby departed from our class at the end of the flrst semester Mr Eklund was our sponsor for thus year The class offlcers were elected as follows President Peggy Watt Vlce Pres: dent Roger Bachofer Secretary Treasurer Joy Reese Peggy Watt Mary Lelster and Joy Reese were the cheerleaders thus year and all the boys went out for basketball and baseball except Robert and Don Nelson Mary Elame Peggy and Sharon were on the Orlole Staff At the start of our lunnor year fourteen members plus four enrolled They were Helen Hoeffner Ed Tlbblttes Melvin Crlggs and Jack Grlfflth Ed left us at the end ofthe fnfth 6 weeks We chose Mrs Rassette for our sponsor class officers were as follows Presndent Helen Hoeffner Vlce Presldent Roger Bachofer Secretary Treasurer Peggy Watt All the boys went out for basketball and baseball Sharon and Joy were cheerleaders thus year The Jumor Sensor Play was gnven on Aprll ll 1958 The name of the play was The Llttle Dog was property manager and Jack was stage manager All the rest of the class were In the play We honored the Sensor Class at the Jumor Sensor Banquet on May 3 1958 at the school study hall Our theme was Mardi Gras Later an the evenmg the grade school faculty underclassmen and other nn vlted guests lolned us for the prom ln the fall of 58 4 gurls and 7 boys enrolled as Semors at Klpp Hugh School They were as follows Mary Lelster, Carolyn Kogler Joy Reese Sharon Shlrack Gary Robbins Don Johnson Don Nelson Jack Griffith Bob McFarlane Dennis Ash and Roger Bachofer We chose Mrs Rassette for our sponsor The class officers that were elected by the Semors are President Mary Lelster Vlce Presudent Roger Bachofer Secretary Sharon Shlrack Treasurer The boys went out for basketball with the exception of Jack Gnfflth and Bob McFarlane Joy Reese and Sharon Shlrack were cheerleaders thus year Mary and Roger were on the Oriole Staff All the gurls were un band Joy Sharon Carolyn and Mary were also In the Glee Club The Semors took part In puttmg on the Christmas Party for the rest of the classes Q Q f .. . . 2 . . , L I I I . SANDY ASH FRANK MARTIN KAREN COOLEY Junior Class Histor As we, the freshman class entered Kipp High in the Fall of '56, we had an enrollment of four: Sandy Ash, Karen Cooley, Steve Kohman, and Frank Martin. Miss Davis was our class sponsor and the class officers were as follows: President, Karen Cooley, Vice-President, Frank Martin, Secretary, Sandy Ash, Treasurer, Steve Kohman. Steve Kohman and Frank Martin went out for basketball and baseball. Karen Cooley was on the Oriole Staff and Student Council. Sandy Ash and Karen Cooley were in band, glee club, and in pep club. Sandy was in the sextet and Karen was in the sextet and triple trio. Frank and Steve were in glee club. The District Music Contest was held in Salina on April 5 and 6. All of the freshmen attended. Frank and Steve were in the Boys' Glee Club, Sandy was in the Band, Girls' Glee Club, and sextet. Karen was in the band, Girls' Glee Club, sextet, and triple trio. ln the beginning of our sophomore year the same four members enrolled. Steve Kohman left our class later in the fall of the first semester. Mr. Tolle was our sponsor for this year. The class officers were elected as follows: President, Karen Cooley, Vice-President, Sandy Ash, Secretary-Treasurer, Frank Martin. Frank Martin went out for baseball. Sandy Ash and Karen Cooley were on the Oriole Staff and Student Council. Sandy was in Band and glee club and Karen was in band, glee club, and the sextet. Frank was in glee club. The Boys' Glee Club, Girls' Glee Club, band, and sextet entered in the contest. Starting in the fall of '58, our Junior year, were Sandy Ash, Karen Cooley, Frank Martin, and Stan Leavendusky. Stan left our class in the late fall of '58. Mrs. Hayden was our class sponsor and the class officers were as follows: President, Karen Cooley, Secretary, Sandy Ash, and Treasurer, Frank Martin. Frank was in the Boys' Glee Club and Karen and Sandy were in the Girls' Glee Club. All three sang in the Mixed Chorus. Sandy and Karen played in the County Band Festival at Gypsum and Frank, Karen, and Sandy sang at the County Vocal Festi- val at Solomon in November. The District Music Contest was held in Salina on April 3 and 4. Frank sang in the Boys' Glee Club and Mixed Chorus. Sandy and Karen sang in the Girls' Glee Club and Mixed Chorus. Karen sang a vocal solo and was in the sextet. Sandy and Karen were on the Oriole Staff. Frank and Karen were on the Student Council. We honored the Senior Class at the Junior-Senior Banquet on May 2, 1959, in the high school gymnasium. Our theme was Moonlight and Roses.
