Freshman Class Hlstow As we the freshman class entered Klpp Hlgh ln the fall of 56 we had an enrollment of four Sandy Ash Karen Cooley Steve Kohman and Frank Martln At our class assembly we chose Mlss Davls for our sponsor and elected our class offrcers Presldent Karen Cooley Vlce Presrdent Prank Martln Secretary Sandy Ash Treasurer Steve Kohman On September 7 the freshman class were 1n1t1ated by the upperclassmen Then on September l0 a welner roast was held by the sophomores for the fresh ended Later ln the evenlng the kldS rode on the hayrack pulled by a tractor around the country In October we entertalned the upperclassmen teachers and thelr famllles by glvlng them a Halloween party 1n the gym We sent the klds on a scavenger hunt and then when they came back we played games A lunch of pop donuts and candy was served Steve and Frank partrclpated 1n both basketball and baseball Sandy and Karen were 1n glee club pep club and band Sandy was ln the sextet and Karen was rn the trlple trlo and sextet Frank and Steve were 1n glee club Karen was on Student Councll and Annual Staff The D1str1ct Muslc Contest was held in Salina on April 5 and 6 All of the freshmen attended Frank and Steve were 1n the Boys Glee Club Sandy was ln the band glee club and sextet Karen was in the band glee club sextet and tuple tr1o l - - - I I I : I I I V ' man class.
