The two new teache s, Mrs Hoffman and r Thomas were introduced to the assembly Welcom to K H S ! Sept 6 le settled down in earne t today to the old routine Quit dreaming about the summer escapades! Sept 15 The first baseball game or the season at Gustavus The boys made a good showing even though trey were taken Sept 19 Bazetta boys toured to Kinsman to be met by defeat in the ionm of the Kinsman Nine Sept 2O The softball team faced their first opponents at Gustavus Good work girls! Sept 22 The boys played Johnston on their own diamond, giving us the game close shave! Sept 27 Hartford girls journied to Kinsman and returned to Hartford with Sept 29 Vernon's baseball 'Q' visited our diamond, and were overcome 16 ll Oct 4 Our girls played Fowler here and K H S was victorious by a score of Oct 6 Our Kinsman boys went to Greene and played a shut out game 9 O Oct 7 The Froshies looked very sleepy today, after their party the nite before Oct 16 Our girls played a good game with Johnston, but were vanquished with 1 score of 12 2 Oct 27 The teachers are excused today to go to N E O T A in Cleveland, so no school! Of course, we were all very unhappy! Nov lO The Srs finally broke down and enjoyed a swell picnic over at the Lakelands That was the nite that 2 of our dignified Srs threw caution to the wind and like little squirrels, climbed a huge oak tree Remembero Nov 15 The Freshmen enjoyed another class party at the home of their sponsor, Mrs Linger Nov 17 Hurry! X1 ,Ik 4 4. v N 1 1 at v WP' ,r I, Q! .H 7.u,.a5A: f ag3gQ.wSE,L,,-. -if I fi CLASS HIQTORY The present memters of the class of '45 who began their school days ir Kinsman are Marlon Banning, Bonnie Simpkins, Betty Thomas, fanny Mathews, Marcena Queale, Harold Sharp, Robert Partridge, Doris Nanamaker and Harriet Leffingwell we gaired ard lost many member! during our twelve years of school We began the first vear in the old school buildlrg Miss Thompson, our first grade teacher gave us a good background for our coming years by teach ng us the rud iments of reading, writing and arithmetic Dibells' owred a store where the bowling alley is now and every noon we went to the store to buy candy Those were the good old days when candy was plentiful Miss Virginia Eurford was our second grade teacher That was the year Danny and Harold got their final warning to stay off the ice on the creek in the winter time The crowning event of every year was the grade school operetta Even in the first grade, though none of us had a leading part, we always went to the gym while they practiced It was fun to watch, and what made it even more fun was that we missed our classes During the fifth year the new school building was completed and we moved 1 looked like a palace compared with our old one June Qtevenson, who has contributed much to our class with her trains beauty, entered in the sixth grade and Our seventh year held a new, exciting adventure for us At last we were stairs! The seniors were our idols even tho' they laughed at us as we stumbled Our classes Eventually we learred our way around and by the middle of the year e considered ourselves veterans Ey this time we began to find out about being allow ed to have class parties and we d1dn't let a six weeks go be without ore In the eight grade Dale Goddard came, causing quite a sensation among the mem bers of our class we gained two members and lost two of our origiral members during the ninth grade Christine Hanawalt moved to Vernon at the beginning of the year and we lost Jack Power the summer before Eleanor Richert from Warren and Carl Anderson, from Jamestown entered our class that year Naomi Wright joined our class in the tenth grade That year we bought our first War Bond Boy, were we proud!
