The driver's ed students were given an insight on what cruisin' around town was all about and they couldn't wait until they could get their own cars. The ever-popular sport of driving up and down the main drag on Friday and Saturday nights originated in the 50's. Kinsley's young adults were able to cruise the lap' several times in a single night. The vehicles cruisin’ around town ranged from sports cars to hearses, sometimes venturing from the lap to various other hot spots in and around town. The most popular place during the summer was the city swimming pool. Students swam in the afternoon before cruisin' to various activities in the evenings. Once school started on August 21, 1987, the students cruised to and from school and extra-curricular activities. Since then it has undergone major improvements. This year the BOE decided to remodel the foyer os well as put on a new roof. The improvements included installing new windows and doors, making the gym and restrooms accessible to the handicapped, wallpapering and carpeting the foyer, and remodeling the girls’ locker room. We thought that the gym was on eyesore to the rest of the buildings in the district,” said Lonn Poage, superintendent. “We thought that by remodeling, school spirit and pride would be improved.” « r for kft: Dona Wilkening gets reody to spike the boil while Melisso loufenberg, Stocy Strote, April Froetschner, Ingrid Hoolond, Angie Konrode ond Kora Ptoger watch intentively.
