Employment helps students Every morning students wake up to go to school, but what happens after school is out? Does every student go home? NO! Does every student cruise the lap? NO! Several students have part-time jobs to keep their time occupied, to keep their cars running, and to have money to spend. Laura Kersting, senior, stated, “When I applied at Mr. Squeaky’s, I wanted to earn money.” Kersting also added, “I enjoy my job because my bosses, Vivian and Carroll Williams, are super. Mr. and Mrs. Williams are very understanding, and if I every have any problems with the schedule, they work with me so that I can work the problems out.” Employment plays a very big role for many high school students. Chad Hutchison, junior, stated, “I applied at Denny’s Jack and Jill, Dennis Friesen-owner, my freshman year, and I got the job.” Hutchison also added, “I do like working for Mr. Friesen because he teaches you responsibility.” Employment helps students prepare for the real world.
