Administration New to Kansas as well as to U. S. D. 347, is Dr. William H. Phillips. Dr. Phillips received his doctorate from the University of New Mexico, and his undergraduate and master's degrees from schools in Texas. Previous to completing his doctorate, Dr. Phillips has served as a classroom teacher, a principal of both elementary and secondary schools, and as superintendent. Having known some difficult times in the course of gaining his education, Dr. Phillips was a fighter holding scholarships in Boxing. He is still a fighter, but now his cause is for better schools for the youth of this community. A very major portion of his time this past year has been spent in seeking additional funds and to make the very best use of the funds which are available to support the schools in our district. He has worked closely with civic groups including die Boy Scouts, the American Legion and the Rotarians, as the programs of these groups relate to the work and welfare of the young people. DR. PHILLIPS SUPERINTENDENT Miss Nadine L. Stallard has been a member of the staff of KHS the past six years, and in addition to serving as counselor to the students in KHS has been given responsibilities in the areas of the Title Programs and the Cooperative Special Education program. Miss Stallard has had all of her college work at the University of Kansas, receiving the Specialist Degree in Guidance and Counseling in 1965. Additional specialized work has been taken at the University of Chicago three different summers. This work was in the area of psychological testing as related to both intelligence and personality. At KHS Miss Stallard is co-sponsor of the National Honor Society, and formerly has been Pep Club sponsor. Miss Stallard has been active in her professional counselor groups, and is currently national vice-president for Secondary Counselors of the American School Counselor's Association. MISS STALLARD COUNSELOR Mr. William C. Scott, high school principal, previously was a social science teacher and wrestling coach at Olathe, Kansas.
