Man will look and look and sigh. Back down life’s road to things passed by. Things of which he will see no-more, But which he wishes were by his grasp, like once before. Things which could, his heart, have healed. But by his failure, his doom, has sealed. Man looks at things which have passed him by. He looks and looks and then asks Why? Many hours of practice, along with the diligence and su- preme abilities of the players, have given K.H.S. one of the strongest tennis teams in its history. Mem- bers: Russ Parmele, John Sacco, Andy Wubbenhorst, Bob Cambell, Rich Mendell, Rudy Cochius, Ken Grieshaber, and Kirk Robinson. National Honor Society The N.H.S., under the direc- tion of Mr. Peterlin, is composed of students excelling in both academic and extra-curricular achievements. One of the high- lights of the year’s activities was a cultural excursion to Phila- delphia, Penn. The annual in- duction ceremony, held in the spring, had various school per- sonnel and community citizens speak. Members: Front row — D. Impyn, L. Sarf, M. Carter, L. Mahoney, C. Bo- ness, S. Saxer, S. Nelson, 2nd row — C. Decker, B. Grieble, J. Sander, D. Cue- man, C. Kruczek, J. Whelan, L. Peter- sen, L. Yu. 3rd row — C. Herzfeld, D. Rucker, A. Fogelson, J. Urmston, R. Lane, C. In portraying the life-styles and activities of the student body and faculty, each member of the 73 Pegasus staff could not help but become truly concerned with Kinnelon High School. It is difficult and challenging to express the emo- tions and attitudes of a mass of people onto the confining pages of a yearbook — if one picture is worth a thousand words, this is where it has to count. — JEM Girls' Basketball Bottom row: J. Whelan, L. Preininger, B. Grieble, B. Griffee, S. Hendee, coach Miss Kastner. Second row: N. Heide, S. Winning, D. Lindquist, C. Seeley, D. Casper, D. Stoddart. Third row: A. DeMuro, K. Heide, D. Marshall, S. Hawkins, J. Urmston. The Girl’s Basketball team, coached by Miss Kastner, ended the season with a 7-7 record. The team was headed by captains Barb Grieble and Lisa Prenninger. 58 Track ’73 The Colt’s track team had another good sea- son. Led by captains P. Idell, G. Linck, and V. Dalton; the team was coached by Mr. Bolles, Mr. Kostenko, and Mr. Schwenker. 59 Choir Under the direction of Mr. A. Azzolina, the choir presented two concerts. Portions of Han- del’s Messiah were performed at the Christmas concert, and songs from the play “Paint Your Wagon Red” were sung at the Spring concert. 60 Vocal Ensemble The vocal ensemble has been busy this year per- forming at churches and luncheons. Sue Moltane and Marty Snook shared the responsi- bility of captain. Other mem- bers were Lynn Seebinger, Karen Ussher, Sandy Balunis, Denise Knight, Linda Brown, Diane Orland, Joann DeGraw, Barb Griebel, Linda Gertsen, Lynn Sensbach, Kay Ephrus- si, and Rosemary Thaler. 63 64 The Colts had the best season in K.H.S. his- tory, with a record of 6-2-1. A strong defence, led by High School All-American Kurt Aller- man, was the key to the Colt’s success. The offense, geared to the fine running of Jeff San- der, guided the Colts to a productive season. Teachers TOP: James Ackerman — Biology I, II. Cooperative Industrial Education is a vocational education program which offers an opportunity for on-the-job training and work experience to eligible high school se- niors. These students have made plans to enter a specific occupation upon graduation from K.H.S. They attend regular classes in school during the morning, and report to a job assignment in business or industry for their work experience during the after- noon. Kinnelon High School students in the C.I.E. Program are placed on jobs for wages. This employment, which provides work ex- perience, added to in-school training, will help establish the student in an industrial or business career. 2, 3 I. Beth Hartman — Summit Gift Gallery 2,3. It is our infamous stage crew, with- out whom the high school productions would not be possible.
