Once again, the Kinkaid Falcons had an excellent season. Led by senior captains led Brown, Cameron reenwood, and Trevor Horne, the Falcons laid waste to Marian Christian, St. Pius, St. Mark's, Holland Hall, . Worth Country Day, Episcopal, and Northwest Academy. Furthermore, for the ninth year in a row, the lcons beat the St. lohn's Rebels, 13-6. Even though several injuries to key players weakened the team, the Icons were able to finish the season with seven wins and two losses as well as to emerge as co-champions 5.P.C. Stiff competition led to a year of ups and downs for this year's Cross Country team. Despite that fact, junior Andy Suman broke the 3 mile course with the outstanding time of 16:10. Other exceptional var- sity runners include A.E.S. student Erik Dalfelt, Anderson Wrangle, Richard Curran, and freshman jeff Williams. Although the team's performance was not up to Coach Dale Smith's expectation, next year's team should be an S.P.C. contender because returning runners will be more experienced. f . ,ft . vw S' ' ' ' ' ' ' , Girls Cross Country This year's Cross Country team owes its success to hard work and unity. Coached by Anna Percher- sky, the team learned the values of training hard, competing hard, and avoiding cliques within the team which injure team spirit. A sense of pride marked the most successful Cross Country team that Kinkaid has had in years, a team which not only beat St. lohn's in a duel meet and avenged other previous losses to St. Agnes and Greenhill, but also a team which won S.P.C. by over twenty points. Team cap- tains Tavenner King and Ashley Alsup, both worked to keep the team spirit high and the level of con- fidence up. The success of the team marked a new winning trend among the girls sports at Kinkaid. ' if -- 'T ' . C -. t -4 gg- . gp F ,-:gifs-fs W? A K . .,, '2,? 1. 0 Top Row CL to RJ: Coach Perchersky. Undefeated in both North and South Zone competitions, we won the division I S.P.C. Championship for the first time in 8 years. And we dominated not because of star players, but because of a star team. Special thanks to coaches Mrs. Braden and Mr. Gephart for bringing out the best in falcon hockey. Overa wins fl mv' 'burma' Weill - X ll the 1986-87 Varsity Volleyball team had a productive and successful year. Although our record of and 17 losses did not truly reflect the talent of our young team, rewarding victories over Marian, and Second Baptist made a season of hard work worthwhile. Our successes also included a third ish at the Lutheran North tournament, a fourth place finish at the Mount Carmel tournament and a second place at South Zone. At North Zone, Karen Hankamer and Allison Quayle walked away ith Second Team All-Conference Honors. As a result of teamwork and determination, the season climaxed ith an impressive 3-5 victory game over St. lohn's. 80 ig.: fy' ' ' Q 3 ,s 1-str: 1 M-'A ,fs ' C l 705 x ,- - x Z 7i 4fY3' ' -' 1 Football JR '!
