Between the covers of this Kinkaidian lie the results of close co- operation and the results of lessons Well taught in dependability as well as in responsibility. We took on the job of bringing you a bigger, newer, and better Annual. Through the hard Work of all we have achieved this goal. You have been prepared for the important college years ahead, and for the adult years which you will live as citizens in your community and your nation. You are now becoming a part of an alumni group which has contributed much to the leadership of Houston, and are assuming a responsibility to lead and to serve. Because you have experienced much of the recent growth of Kinkaid, and under- stand its needs, we invite you, in your new role of leadership and service, to give your advice and help in the preparation for Kinkaidas second half-century. Your ideas, energy, and enthusiasm are needed in supporting Kinkaid's new building program. Instead of a farewell, we extend to you the hope that together we shall see the suc- cessful beginning of our new campus by 1956, the 50th anniversary year. JOHN H. COOPER 5 fi: 'Sixers Q. And so, for more than a generation an outstanding feature of Kinkaid's college preparatory program has been the training provided in mathematics. All students take at least two courses in this subject and the majority are enrolled for three or four years. ln the mathe- matics or science clubs the interested student may explore the fields of calculus or the practical application and research in the fields of electricity and electronics.
