Af Hra high school d Setiiiii Bcieniific toer of U. t tratningr upoil coiffiftiissioning University in December 1973. v ' al Aviator on 80 March 1975, his initial •ctic Development Squadron SIX (VXE-6), homebased at NAS Point Mugu California, where he deployed to the Antarctic continent and qualified as a helicopter aircraft commander in the UH-IN aircraft. In July 1978, Ken assumed the duties of Flag Lieutenant and Aide to the Commandant of Naval District Washington D. C. After a brief refresher with HSL-31, the Fleet Replacement Squadron, Ken reported as one of the Magicians of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light THREE FIVE in March 1981. He served as Assistant Officer-in-Charge and Operations Officer of HSL-35 Detachment THREE during a Western Pacific and Indian Ocean deployment aboard USS COOK (FF-1083) from August 1981 to March 1982. Ken assumed the duties as Officer-in-Charge of HSL-35 Detachment TWO and deployed in October 1982 aboard USS LEFTWICH (DD-984) and then USS KINKAID (DD-965). . LCDR Kraper died in the service of his country on 11 December 1988. Ken is survived by his wife, Mary, and sons, Patrick, Kenneth, Jr., and Timothy.
