Mrs. Dorothy Conery Mr. Herbert Petelle Mr. James Taylor Mr. Roger Person Mr. Robert Thomas Mr. Bruce Herrmann g The Math Department. . . experimented with a new approach to the teaching of general math. Essen- tially, the new approach centers around the mini-course set up. A given stu- dent must pass four of the eight offered mini-courses in order to receive one credit for general math. A durable feature of this new program is that it allows students an opportunity to get a fresh start every nine weeks.

Industrial Arts - Vocational Education . . . The addition of a new facility and the development of courses in building trades and recreational and service vehicle mechanics has greatly expanded the vocational education program offered to the students at Kingswood Regional High School. These new offerings, in conjunction with the existing business education program, provide the student an opportunity to enjoy actual work experiences during their high school careers. This experience can lead to a productive and rewarding commitment to society in today's world of work. The industrial arts program continues to systematically expand its offerings to provide learning experiences that will orient the student toward the technological resources available to him and thereby contribute to a freer human mind for greater creativity and individ- ual dignity. tfsppu . ..LL L..t ,, ,, .- -Q-k 4 J- -A J ii ii 5 . 5 I ' ' KJ 1, Mr. William Findlen Mr. Frank Tupper Mr. John Caneen if rst John Markowitz Mr. John Aron Mr. Carl Contois E

d,,,,,.u.N.. - Mr. Edward Roundy Mrs. Cynthia Pelczar Mr. Steven Metz Kingswood Athletics At the beginning of the school year we found a trend in our ath- letic program which, in one aspect, was a reflection of the school, and in another, a contradiction of what had been occurring in high schools throughout the nation, the trend being the drastic increase in the number of students trying-out and participating in our inter-scholastic teams. Our student population has grown rapidly, as it has everywhere, but throughout the nation, as reported in coaching and educational journals, fewer students were becoming involved in inter-scholastic sports. Could this be a reason? The students, faculty, and towns peoples Kings- wood serves are fortunate in having a dedicated, hard-working coaching staff who unselfishly sacrifice their time and energy to the students, their compensation being mostly in seeing their players improve and perform well. These past three seasons we participated in the traditional sports: basket- ball, skiing, baseball and track. New sports were club hockey, a gymnastics club and junior high girls, softball. By the time this goes to press, we may have a girls' track club. Our success lies in our enthusiasm and devotion to the same ideals.
