Gerald Walter Brady Gerry added his name to the roll of the second form in 1941. Turning out an excellent season on Lancaster's football team, he also earned large Wyverns in basketball and baseball. Showing his ability in scholarship and citizenship, he became one of the first members of the Kay organization. In the third form Gerry won a well-deserved intermediate football letter and played center field on the intermediate baseball team, both times coached by Mr. Macdonald. He attained special distinction in scholarship by winning a place on the Honor Roll for that year. In the fourth form Gerry was one of the few class members to play on all varsity squads. He also managed to make the Honor Roll several times through- out the year. Rejoining the varsity football squad, in his junior year Gerry became first string center, and his playing easily merited him his major letter. He played varsity basketball and captured another major K as right fielder on the varsity diamond. At the close of the year he was chosen to be a member of the Prefect body for the following year. During the following football season in his position of line backer-up, he led the team in pass interceptions, despite a broken wrist suffered earlier, and again won a major letter. Gerry plans to continue his education at Brown or Trinity, and we agree that he will establish a fine record and make a host of new friends in this world! Lee Davies Bellmer Entering Kingswood from Sedgwick Junior High in the fourth form, Lee started an honor-laden career. He made the varsity football team, played class basketball, and caught for the intermediate diamond group. Winning his Kay button and class numerals during his fifth form year, Lee continued work as a member of the class committee and dining hall monitor. After playing varsity football and baseball, Lee won the great honor of appointment as a Prefect. Senior year highlighted Lee’s stay at Kingswood. Playing football as fullback, Davies” gained his second varsity letter and won a gold football in honor of the undefeated and untied season. Elected secretary of the class for life, Lee thus became a member of the class committee and the Student Council. Under his supervision and guidance, the first Kay Council in Kingswood’s history was formed, Lee becoming the first president. Together with Shepard he managed to gather all the scandal of Kingswood to constitute the material for the We Heard ..column of the News. After serving on the decorations committee of the Dance Committee, Lee still found time to receive a letter for managing to varsity basketball team and to play baseball. Upon graduation Lee plans to go to college, including Annapolis, Princeton, and Bowdoin among his first choices. Wherever he goes, however, we know he’ll be a great success! I I Edward Stratton Carrier The resolute face of Ted Carrier first peered over the pigeons roosting on Russell Gates in September, '42. His soccer-playing style was, however, not nearly so cautious, and he won an intermediate letter. During the winter a member of Joe’s gargantuas, he played on the intermediate baseball team that spring, and was an eager (to get out) helper in the kitchen. Ted's fourth form year bears a remarkable resemblance to his previous one; in fact, it’s the same. He won an intermediate letter in soccer, played intermediate baseball, and won two more holidays for his help in the kitchen. In his junior year Ted won a major K with the varsity soccer squad, played first string tennis, continued work in the dining hall, and was appointed a lose property monitor. Obtaining many advertisements for the Wyvern, he became one of the outstanding members of the Business Board, and learned how to type out bills in Mrs. Weldon’s typing class. After Ted’s inclusion in that big political machine, the senior class, he was unanimously elected the Business Manager of the Wyvern, to the chagrin of Shylock” McDonough of the News staff. E. S. was this year awarded another major K in varsity soccer, played tennis, and ''rifled’’ with Colonel Wainwright. As Ted plans to go to Dartmouth or Williams, we send him knowing that he’ll go a long way on his subtle sense of humor and his easy way of making friends!
