Charles Frederick Bartlett Charlie entered Kingswood in the fourth form under the alias of Charles Berg. That fall he went out for the intermediate football team. Enlisting in J.E.G.’s calisthenics course that winter he found it so easy he worked off his excess energy commanding the eraser fights in the classroom, and the faculty was pleased when next spring Charlie devoted more of his time to intermediate baseball. In his junior year Charlie received a letter for his efforts on the varsity soccer team. After another course on the body beautiful” he was again found on the baseball diamond, this time under the guidance of Joe Gargan. When in the spring Charlie’s last name was changed from Berg to Bartlett, many confused souls com- promised on Berglett (rather inaccurate but clever.—Ed.). During his sixth form year Charlie played a rugged game at center half-back during a long and difficult season, earning another major K. Throughout the winter he played basketball every morning, became a stalwart member of the 3:30 Cub, and spent his afternoons working on the selling end of the CLASSBOOK, as he was one-half of the circulation department. On many winter Satuidays Charlie went north with the Outing Club, to set several downhill skiing records. Next year Charlie hopes to enter Williams or Yale and we all sincerely wish him the best of luck! Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.—Emerson. 8

Lee Davies Bellmer Entering Kingswood from Sedgwick Junior High in the fourth form, Lee started an honor-laden career. He made the varsity football team, played class basketball, and caught for the intermediate diamond group. Winning his Kay button and class numerals during his fifth form year, Lee continued work as a member of the class committee and dining hall monitor. After playing varsity football and baseball, Lee won the great honor of appointment as a Prefect. Senior year highlighted Lee’s stay at Kingswood. Playing football as fullback, Davies” gained his second varsity letter and won a gold football in honor of the undefeated and untied season. Elected secretary of the class for life, Lee thus became a member of the class committee and the Student Council. Under his supervision and guidance, the first Kay Council in Kingswood’s history was formed, Lee becoming the first president. Together with Shepard he managed to gather all the scandal of Kingswood to constitute the material for the We Heard ..column of the News. After serving on the decorations committee of the Dance Committee, Lee still found time to receive a letter for managing to varsity basketball team and to play baseball. Upon graduation Lee plans to go to college, including Annapolis, Princeton, and Bowdoin among his first choices. Wherever he goes, however, we know he’ll be a great success!
