JAMES S. FOSTER “Jim entered the school in the Fifth Grade, and this year he was one of the few remaining original members, who started way back in the “old days . In the Sixth Grade Jim won the Dux Prize for leadership in studies, and he also played on the Lancaster Football Team. “Mouse added a great many points to his club's score through dis- tinction in studies. He played club football for three years and club base' ball for two years, and in his last year in the Junior School he was elected the President of the Lancaster Club. He was a member of the Lancaster relay team which broke the record for the 440yard run and received a cup. Upon entering the LJpper School, Jim was elected President of his class, and has held that position for four years, being this year President of the Senior Class. Jim won his letter three years in succession on the First Football Team, and was a regular on Coach Gargan's undefeated team of two years ago. Ever since the Sixth Grade, “Mouse has been interested in the work of the J'lews, and this year he was elected Editordn-Chief of the school paper. He has been a Prefect this year, with all the other duties that he has had to carry out. He also has worked on the Senior Class Book in the capacity of editor. Jim's outside activities are as numerous as those that he has in school. His favorite pastime is skiing, or should it be pronounced “shiing ? Jim is going to enter Dartmouth next fall, and we all know he will make the best of his opportunities up there in the country where men are men. There is a possibility that Jim's interests may carry him into the field of journal' ism, or business administration. He hopes to enter the Amos Tuck Business School at Hanover. We all wish him the best of luck and success. 16

LENNOX C. FOGG, JR. “Misty” entered Kingswood in the Third Form and soon became distin' guished in athletics, being a member of the Second Baseball and Soccer Teams in both his freshman and his sophomore years. He also played hockey during his first three years here. “Lennie” has been a member of the Choir for four years, lending his lusty voice to the bass section. In his junior year “Foggy” joined the Hews board in the capacity of As' sistant Circulation Manager. Because of his talent and faithful service he was elected Business Manager the next year. During the past two years, “Len” has been a mainstay on the First Soccer Team, earning his letter both years. This year he was elected a Prefect, which is one of the highest honors that a Kingswood boy can obtain. Len is a rabid “fiend” for jazz music, the mere note of a trumpet being enough to start him “swaying.” He is also a great golf player, spending the greater part of every summer on the links, although last summer he spent a month at Fort Devens and is expecting to do the same thing again this summer. This spring “Foggy” did an excellent job as manager of the First Base' ball team, earning a major “K”. His ability to make the “kids” of the neighborhood chase fly balls was little short of amazing. Len’s other activities include his service as one of the Business Man' agers of the Class Book, and he did occasionally manage to show up at Mathematics Club in his junior year. Next year “Foggy” is headed for the University of Pennsylvania and hopes to attend the Wharton Sch(x l of Finance with three other members of the Senior Class. If his record at Kingswood is any indication, we all feel sure he will be very successful in the future. 15

WALLIN G. FOSTER, JR. “Wally has completed a five'year “term at Kingswood (not to be con' fused with terms at certain other insti' tutions). “Foss” started in the Eighth Grade and soon made a name for hinv self in athletics and scholarship. He played on the All'Star Basketball Team and the Second Baseball Team. Not satisfied with these accomplishments, Wally entered the Junior School Track Meet and was a member of the record breaking Eighth Grade relay team. He also broke the record for the polewault. Wally played on the Second Team dup ing his freshman and sophomore years. He also played on the First Basketball Squad during his sophomore year. The following year Wally played Soccer and received his letter in this sport. He also got his major “K in basketball and was elected captain of the team for the following year. In his senior year he played right end on the First Football Team and received his letter. Wal had bad luck in the basketball season as he broke his arm in the initial game, leaving the team without its captain for the rest of the season. He was elected President of the Dramatic Club and was acknowledged by all to be the most polished actor in the school — both on the stage and off. He was made a Prefect this year and has carried out his duties in ad' mirable fashion. Wally is an excellent skiier (and “sheer ) and generally spends his vacations going North with the lads to indulge in his favorite sport. This spring Wally became an ini' portant cog in the performance of the First Baseball Team where his fielding and hitting were first class. Foss played left field for the Wyvern squad. Wally will honor Cornell with his presence next year. He hopes to study there to become an architect. 17
