They mature and grow green and vibrant in the summer. In the fall, they burst into a blaze of color. And in the winter, they lie dormant awaiting the renewal of life. So it is with our lives. . .we too go through various changes that lead through the cycle of life. We bloom with knowledge, we mature with experience, we shed our adolescence, and assume the responsibilities of adulthood. On a smaller scale we have already undergone a part of this life cycle. We have made important decisions, ridding ourselves of old habits and adding new values to our lives. A major part of our adolescence has been spent within the walls of Kingsway, and we have made ourselves a part of it's tradition. It is an irreplaceable part of our lives, one which we will always treasure. This yearbook portrays a year of our Kingsway experiences. +1--+-- J .-y-- iw-+,i , -.. ,.... A... .ff e w QJXSL-'Q

I Francis H. Marks Through the years, many teachers have come and gone, but Mr. Marks has remained a solid figure here at Kingsway. Although it may seem as if Mr. Marks has been teaching all his adult life, he actually has a versatility that expands far beyond his teaching expertise. He began his diversified career working at a soda fountain at the age of 15. He held down several other j obs before landing in the United States Army, serving as Sergeant Maj or in Europe during World War II. After spending three years in the Army, he attended five colleges, ending with Rutgers, Where he earned his masters degree, and was accepted into the doctorate program. He began his teaching career at Swedesboro High and has spent 31 years in this district. He also served as head teacher until the position was eliminated at Kingsway. During this time, he was head coach of a number of sports, among them 33 varsity teams. The track team under Mr. Marks' direction twice won the South Jersey Group I Championship, one of which was the first boy's championship ever to be won by Kingsway. He received the Coach ofthe Year award for his outstanding coaching ofthe 1952-53 basketball team. In addition, he also coached the Cross Country team for 12 years. In 1981, he was inducted into the South Jersey Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Having been the yearbook advisor for 20 years, Mr. Marks has proven how dedicated he could be for the good of his students. Along with his good humor and charm, Mr. Marks is generous to a fault. The long hours that he put into working on the yearbook are too many to be counted. His honesty makes him comfortable to work with, and his manners are never lacking. He is chivalrous -- truly to be called a modern day knight. We hereby dedicate the 1982 yearbook to him. Francis H. Marks 4
