HEERL 1-:A DER G. Capri, D. Harris, K. Evans, C. Rucker, C. Battaglia, M. Leon, D. Clarke, M. Lloyd, T. Blint, I. Marino, L. Ferko, D. Chew. Kingsway's gym is packed, the bleachers are 5 filled. Eleven varsity cheerleaders are in the 2 center of the gym preparing to supply the spark 1 ' ix, 2 that will make the gym come alive. In a few short 'I 1 moments, the school spirit will roar with the - sound. . . All the way! Big K! All the way! . . .as ,M E ' them take over their emotions. gl Q Q Cheerleading is not just a gametime activity. Wff Q5 Many hours ofhard work are spent in preparing W9 for a successful sports season. The cheerleaders are responsible not only for the morale of the crowd and the team, but they also run many of the schoolwide activities. Each year, the cheerleaders sponsor the 'Skick- off dance one week before the first game. On this day, the parents of both XX S+- football Players and cheerleaders are asked to X I R 9 . . . h lf. . . . .h h . participate in a time activities wit t err children. This year, for the first time, the cheer- leaders ignited the football players during Home- coming Week by offering them cupcakes, fortune cookies and many other goodies in order to get f them psyched for the big game. All things considered, 1982 was one of the most successful years for the football players and cheerleaders a like.
