QRZEUWGR As editors of the 1977 LANCER, we would like to take this time to familiarize you with the class of i77. A hardworking group from the very beginning, the class has always been involved in fund-raising activities. Long hours were spent in the cafeteria preparing spaghetti suppers and chicken barbeques. Many students spent their Saturday mornings collecting tons of newspapers while others worked hard selling magazines and notecards. A multitude of other financial drives occupied their underclassman years. Finally, as Seniors, they took charge of the concession stand for all home football games. Unfortunately, despite their financial success, they were not what one could consider artistic. Their eighth grade float of The Statue of Liberty fcommonly known as The Green Thingnj was one example of their artwork. Most of their other floats were equally disastrous. However, in 1974, their sophomore float won second prize, showing that there was still some hope. Nonetheless, the class of '77 was not easily discouraged. They exhibited their exhilarating school spirit at many a Pep Rally, winning the spirit stick three consecutive times. As inexperienced worms, the class of ,77 Powder Puffers could only tie their senior opponents 6-6. As Senior Gophers however, class began to tell as the class of 577 completed the powder puff experience with a 24'-14 blasting of the class of ,78. As their last year came to a close, the class enjoyed a four-day vacation in Disney World. Their years in high school were then climaxed by commencement ceremonies in June. On behalf of the class of '77, we bid a fond farewell to Kingsway Regional High School and to all those whose guidance and encouragement helped us through some of the most memorable years of our lives.
