For the first time in its history, the Kingston High School yearbook has gone to a new system of production. It is called the school paste-up program. Using this system, the yearbook staff lays out the pages exactly as you see them here. The only thing that we don’t do is set in the type. We glue down the pictures, put in all of the blacklines and set the headlines on the pages. It is a lot of work, but by doing it this way, we save over 500 dollars. This system takes a lot of hard work and dedication on the part of each of the staff members. I extend thanks and congratulations to those who made this book pos- sible T. Bailey Picture one has four unidentified broomhockey players trying to make an all important point during the festivities of Snow- coming week. Picture two has Junior Varsity Cheerleader Kelli Gilmore pos- ing for one of her many pictures Picture three is a usual scene at the Se- nior’s Concession stand. LoAnn Dibble, Liz Wenta, and Jeff Newton are work- ing hard, or is that hardly working!? Spectators lined Mud-Bath Stadium dur- ing this year’s Broom Hockey tourna- ment in Picture 4. STUDENT LIFE f FACES... i 8 9 10 11 SENIOR LIFE SENIOR LIFE, A senior spends his or her last year doing things that help make it a most memerable year. The senior trip, the consession stand, and term papers are highlights that help make this final year more memorable. Fun specked with a touch of trouble outlined the year. Every student looks upon a senior as a true adult, and a person they all would like to be like, just to feel the excitment of finally reaching the highest spot in the school. r Vi ------------------------------------ Top Right: Here is Kelli Parker, a Varsity cheerleader posing for a picture at one of Kingston’s win- ning games!? We were very fortunate to have the privelege of hosting, from the Philip- pine Islands, Miss Erlinda Arandia. She became a part of the family of Wayne and Karen Boyl of Kingston. Erlinda enjoyed her stay here and has talked of coming to the U.S. for college. She excelled in her classes, made friends easily and participated in Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Track. She especially liked those things which she wasn’t exposed to at home, like snow and snowmobiling. It was a pleasure to have her here and we wish her the best of luck. ________________ 1st Exchange Student 35 SENIOR SNAPS r The top picture has our class officers who did a great job this year. The show took place through the planning and hard work of Mrs. Biefer and the members of the Art Club. a. These fine oils are the work of Jan Ger- hardt, wife of math teacher Fred Gerhardt. b. The work of Mrs. Biefer is displayed in this photo. There was much more work displayed by KHS students. 50 We are truly sorry that we did not get a picture of this year’s bands. This group deserves much recogni- tion for the work that they have done this year and the pride that they have brought to the Kingston Music Depart- ment, and the community. At Regional Band and Orchestra Competition at Mt. Morris, the Senior Band earned straight I ratings for their performances. The Band Program, consisting of Jun- ior Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band and Senior Band, is under the direction of Mr. Wayne Smith and Mr. Dave Par- ker. This past year, the Marching Band enlivened the halftimes of the football games. The Pep Band provided enter- tainment at the basketball games. The bands performed two concerts this year, a Christmas Program and a Spring show. These groups deserve much recogni- tion. Again, we are sorry that we goofed. MOVIN' ON Staff K.H.S. IN ACTION 114 Thinking it over 118 Movin’ On... The purpose of this book is to show what happened at Kingston High School over the past year. It is impossible to show everything and we are sure that there are things that we have missed. For that, we are truly sorry. The 1977-78 school year has had some ups and some downs. The year was marked by a distinct and sincere effort on the part of Mr. Robinson and many others to get some new things going for students and faculty to get involved with. At the same time, there were disappointments. Students and teachers didn’t always take the initiative to get into what was happening. Many were content to settle back and let somebody else get involved and then com- plain about “not enough things to do.” As with every year, 1977-78 was different in many ways; music, dancing, cars, clothes, movies and ‘moves’. The guys checked out Cheryl Tiegs and Farrah Fawcett, while the girls checked out Kris Kristofferson and cried over the death of Elvis. Another year is over and we look ahead to 1978-79. Who knows what it will bring? 120 9 •1 i • • ‘ s v. a v £r — v :;-' c :• « v . + • V ' - r« - -- ■ • ' ■ — «• «%■ - • -v:-v I :“v- ■” '-'- t. ---• M — . • “..• C---. -'• -'. .:-. — - - v:•_' r. - -j-„ -i -' • x N“- “ • v j ' N - - - .. ,% v_ — - •“ . „ -■ _ • • «
