This is, if you stop to think of it, exactly what your many years in school are all about. You may not think that way now nor do you really ever think of it, until that final moment when clad in your cap and gown, you take your seat awaiting the presentation of that coveted goad; your diploma. Think about it for just a moment. What do all those 13 years mean in terms of who you are and where you will be in ten years after graduation. If you set your goals early enough in school it may mean the difference in a medocre job and one with prestige. Or your dream may be to stay where you are at and do what is expected of you. Your goal may be to go to college and use what you learn where you’re at. The important thing to keep in mind is that you should set your goal early and keep your eye on the road you have chosen. If you work at it now rather than in years to come, what you want will come sooner than you think. Your education is a road that begins when you first learn to get along with your peers in Kindergarten, and it continues when you from close ties with your classmates. It is a road that leads to romance, not your last but the first of many. It leads to understanding the problems of math and then importance in your life. It leads to “Why do I have to know about poetry”, and “Boy do you ever think I can disect a worm.” Your education, your schooling, is what makes you unique and interesting. It is NOT just learning or cramming, or rotten teachers making you work, work, work, education is that road that will lead you to that dream you had when you first said “boy I can’t wait to get our of this place’’ and, when sitting looking out at your parents, friends, teachers, and administration you say to yourself, oh, I wish I didn’t have to leave. It is a road to a dream that for your is just beginning to come true. 3 A ROAD TO A DREAM We start when we are young, and we never stop. When we are in Kindergarten we are looking forward to first grade and going to school all day. That was our dream. When we start our high school days, all we look forward to is graduation, our big day. After graduation we are all free to chase our own dream. These pictures are just some of the phases that we have gone through as we followed our Road to a dream. 4 5 6 MRS. We watched the ski show ana then we had a little free time to buy souvenirs and wander around the Gardens. When we were done there we loaded on the bus and went to the 1776 Inn. Our name was in lights there. We spent the afternoon resting up to go to Disney World in the Morning. Disney World was something else. Everybody divi- ded into groups and we were on our way. There was so much to see and so little time to see it. Nobody saw everything but we sure had fun trying to. By the end of the day we were all in different groups we were all ready to go back to the hotel to go swimming. Thursday we went to the Whitehall Inn and Dayto- na Beach. About 1:00 we all went down to the beach and had a group picture taken of the group. After that we were free to do as we pleased. That night if we wanted to we could go to the restaurant in the Hotel for what was probably the first meal a lot of us had at someplace besides McDonalds. The next morning was free to pack to go home or to go shopping. Most of us threw everything in our suitcases or tried to, and went shopping or swimming. We all had a surprise though when we got back. One of the maids had ripped us off. Some of us lost every- thing and some only lost part of our money. After all the excitement of the morning we loaded on the bus and left for Marineland. On our way there we stopped and bought some oranges and grapefruit to take home. We watched the show at Marineland and loaded on the bus real quick and were on our way home. We got back to Kingston early and we all had to wait to go home because our parents had not been called. We were home safe, a whole lot poorer and a whole lot more tired. 74 75 76 77 CLASS COLORS Light Green Dark Green CLASS FLOWER Yellow Rose Seniaa (3aAA «f D UucjaJoii tTCiijl) cVKool (XnnouficeA Ia 1977 Commencement Program 79 COMMENCEMENT May 29,1977 Two O’clock ’Processional . .High School Band directed by Wayne Smith ’Opening Prayer Rev.
