The new library also features many facilities that were not available before, including: a lounge area, a separate refer- ence area, individual study desks, audio visual carrels, display cases, a complete check out and charging unit and doubled seating capacity. Staff The audio visual equipment has now been incorporated into the lib- rary in a separate room. Student librarians duties include checking books in and out, shelv- ing returned books, putting away magazines and papers, preparing new books for the shelf, mending damaged books, preparing bulletin boards and displays, and assisting students find the books and materials they need. French Students Using the new language lab, the French students are able not only to hear French songs, tapes and records, but are able to record and hear their French voices . According to Mary Lou Walls, French I student, The French language lab is very interesting. It is all con- cealed in the ceiling. The days that we are going to use the lab, Miss Lundberg has all the controls at a touch. There's a switch for each set of earphones. The earphones and microphones drop down to about a foot above our heads. Everyone gets out a set of earphones and puts them on. When we turn on the sound guess who we hear? Miss Lundberg. The French II class is planning our annual multi-eventful French trip. Last year's trip included being lost in both Canada and Detroit, a police escort, and a mascot 'Canuk'. FHA This year the Future Homemakers of America be- gan the year with a Beeline Fashion Show. Several F.H.A. girls modeled the fashions. One new member was initiated at the annual initiation and Christmas party held Dec. 8. It was decided that one meeting a month would be held at one of the member's homes during the last half of the school year. Bake sales and car washes will be held to raise money for the yearly F.H.A. trip. FFA The primary aim of the FFA is Citizenship, Lead- ership and Cooperation. Of our present officers all but one of the officers have been to the National FFA Convention in Kansas City. So a student must have a strong foundation of knowledge, character and spirit to withstand the increasing pressures of a fast moving m0d,Tt a the school board and administrators planned and supervised die building of the new school, the faculty are supervising the building of students knowledge, character, an spirit for a strong foundation of life. . .. . If a teacher can lay one or two lasting blocks of knowledge, character or spirit in a student's life foundation, he has done his job well. A d m 1 n • i s t r a t • i o n MR. JOHN FOX President MR. GARY KOEHLER Secretary SCHOOL BOARD AT WORK MR. MARVIN KRAMER Vice-President School Board These are the men who through their time, effort, and considerable planning have gotten us our new school. These men make our school laws and district policies. A few other tasks they do are hiring teachers, settling budget matters, buying books, and getting us bus drivers to transport us here every day. We owe them many thanks and deep appreciation for what they have done for us. Keep up the good work! ! MR. LOUIS WENZLOFF Trustee MR. FRED RUGGLES Trustee MR. ROBERT WILMOT Trustee Mr. Robert Cameron Superintendent As you leave high school I would urge you to do three things. First, be a dreamer. Dream glorious dreams and follow your dream. Secondly, don't be afraid to take a chance be- cause of the fear of failure. It has been said many times that a person who has never failed, has never attempted anything. Thirdly, by now you have a personal set of principles by which you will live. Regardless of trials or tribulations, don't give up your principles. No matter how success is measured, you will be a success. Superintendents office, May I help you? ; a friendly yet business like voice inquires. And who could this voice belong to other than Mrs. Sharon Brandibur, secretary or the superintendents office and supervisor of the high school girls who work in the o ice. 35 Mr. Donald Schoneboom Principal Students leaving Kingston have been taught many tilings which will soon be forgotten. These things will be forgotten because they will not relate directly to what the person is doing. Regardless of what a person does af- ter graduation, there are some things really worth remembering: We should periodically review our accomplish- ments, our shortcomings and our ambitions; the greatest success and accomplishment comes through patience and effort over a long period of time; that the greatest success results from cooperation with interested and cap- able people; that the greatest joy in achievement comes from appreciation by and encouragement of one's friends; and that we all will make mistakes but if we can subdue our pride, our arrogance and our prestige, we will not be ashamed to admit and correct these mistakes. May you always find that inspiration which accom- panies sincerity and truthfulness. Mrs. Wilda Nemeth is the high school secretary. She also supervises the 13 girls who work various hours in the office. Here she greets you with her cheerful morning smile as she prepares for the coming hectic day. Nothing like a smile to start a day - maybe it will keep trouble away. 36 Faculty MR. BRADLEY teaches Government, Michigan History and Journalism. We have a lot of sentimental feelings about this old school and the memories it has held for us in the past, but we look forward to the new adventures and great times that are in store for us in the new school, and in the days after graduation. As this last year in high school comes to an end, we hope that we have come close, and some of us reached, the goals we have set for ourselves. Upon graduation as we move on from high school into a future that holds bigger and better things, we hope to make a contribution to our fellow man that will go on, and be remembered by all, forever. The old will soon become the new and they have many ideas for their future. Grand spirit, high hopes and drive will get these future doers where they want to go. Great things will come from their trials and errors. These students along with the Seniors, are our leaders of tomorrow. Let us, lead them not into temptation. Juniors Adamczyk, A. Adamczyk, D. The Freshmen class has finally taken the big step into the world of High School, credits and great anticipation of their coming years. We are really excited about the happenings going on with games and moving into the new school. It seems that we'll never move, but the time is going faster and soon days in the old school will be gone. Old things will be in the past and a new world full of chal- lenging obstacles will cross our paths of life and take place of by-gone days. 66 Class Of 73 Britton, R. Cadotte, J. Campbell, C. Without these kind of people buying ads, there would not be a yearbook, for a great per- centage of the money backing comes from advertising. In exchange for purchasing an ad in our yearbook, the businessman receives recognition, and a growing bus- iness. Through our yearbook, the businessmen are able to communicate with many. We, on the advertising staff, would like to thank all those who have purchased ads so generously.
