Faculty Problems inherent in the teaching pro- fession primarily revolve about the student and his problems, although many students may not be aware of this. Such factors as maintaining discipline without being dictatorial, stimula- ting initiative to achieve a higher plane of knowledge, problems associated with parent- student-school relationships, fitting into the community and finding enough time to plan and prepare lessons are all necessary to the teach- ing profession. Most teachers are teachers because they enjoy young people and working with them. Teachers don't mind helping students in any activity if it is appreciated and if it is a con- structive activity. At Kingston as at most schools improve- ment in the structuring of the curriculum is important so as to motivate more strongly the more capable student, and give additional re- medial assistance to those having problems.
