is always present though we may not be aware of it at the time. When we stop to think of it, we can view these various characteristics which make each teacher different. The most obvious of these are physical features. However, the most priceless qualities of these individuals cannot be seen but rather, they are observed over a long period of time. As to those charac- teristics which can only be observed, we might watch how a person acts in, or reacts to various situations. We watch our teachers in this way. We wonder at their motivating techniques and laugh at their mistakes. But, because our teachers do not crumble under this constant pressure of teen- agers, we can honestly call them unique individ- uals. MR. A vivid example of this may be found in the accompanying photos. Some appear happy, some deep in thought, perhaps, some may even appear stoic. Regardless of how each teacher may appear, there is one common char- acteristic of all photos. Each teacher appears as a symbol of authority. They represent the authority which is necessary to promote the suc- cessful integration of each student into our society. Fortunately, for the students and com- munity as well as teachers themselves, each individual of the faculty has a different method of obtaining the same results. Certainly after some thought, students realize and appreciate the necessity and advan- tage of having each teacher appear as a unique individual.
