Text from Pages 1 - 72 of the 1958 volume:

CARDINAL Acknowledgments Here it is! History has been made! We are proud to present the first annual published in Kingston Community School. Oh, it hasn’t been easy, this first attempt at producing journalistic history. There have been the discouragements, the disappointments, and the impossible to do. There have been sticky fingers from pasting up page after page, heated discussions about lay-out, copy, finances, headings, and “Why doa’t you keep your big mouth shut!! ” There have been dozens of pictures to take, develop, print, crop, and discard. And always deadlines - deadlines - deadlines! ! But if you, our subscribers, take pleasure in this book, then all our pain- ful spasms of creativity have been well worth while. We have become more and more enthusiastic as we have seen the book take shape; we hope you will share our enthusiasm. Special thanks are due those who have made this achievement possible. First of all, we are very grateful for our beloved advertisers and subscribers, without whose financial backing this book would not have been possible. And to those whose labors have formed this book from mere scraps of paper; we bow at your feet. Special thanks to Neoma Jakubowske who hand- led the advertising campaign, lay-out, pasting up, and half a dozen other odd jobs. Thanks also to Patricia Ruggles who did lay-out and pasting up; to Peggy Wilkinson who handled the enor- mous task of preparing all copy; to Donna Randall who competently handled our financial affairs, and to Gayle Peter who managed the subscriptions. Thanks also to the rest of our staff who simply worked (when the spirit hit them). Thanks also to P. Di. who turned out to be a pretty fair photographer. So, read on, dear friends, and enjoy this past years’ history of our school and community, and you.
