“SOCIAL EVENTS The social events of Kingsley High School for the year 1951 52 included various events such as class plays, music concerts, the Junior-Senior Prom, Homecoming, school parties, and the two great events for the Seniors of 1951, Baccalaureate and Commencement The Seniors of 1951 presented the three act mystery, Hobgoblin House, on April 20, directed by Mr E Lamb The Juniors of 1952 presented The Divine Flora, a three act comedy, on November 9 1951 directed by Mrs Phelps The spring music concert was held on April 6 1951 at Kingsley High School, the solo contest was held at Sioux Center on April 13 and the County Music Festival was held at Remsen on April 27 Dorotha Mich, Margaret Soeldner, Duane Smith, Wayne Pfaffle, and Phebe Wolfson went to Des Moines to participate in the All state Chords and Orchestra We, the Seniors of 1952, were hosts and hostesses to the Sen Orchestra furnished the music for the evening of dancing The theme was Old Mexico, and the gymnasium was gaily decorated with large multi colored sombrero as the center of attraction The day of Homecoming dawned clear, but very cold and rather windy The parade was held in the afternoon as usual with the band, bicycles, and the attractive floats participating The King candidates, Francis Hamman, Arlen Nhite, and Kent Richardson and the Queen candidates, Sally Mathers, Darlis Roepke, and Margaret Soeldner rode on the Senior float At night the nRoya1ty' rode in convertibles and King Francis and Queen Sally were crowned be fore the game The day's festivities were highlighted by the dance after the football game Several high school parties, sponsored by the various classes, were held during the year They were all a big success and enjoyed by everyone The entertainment included square dancing, social dancing, and other games These were the outstanding social events of Kingsley High School during the past year ' J I D iors of 1951 at the Junior-Senior Prom on May 9, 1951.
