This new system is concerned specifically with the students' futureftheir educational, voca- tional, recreational and social careers. The department strives earnestly to guide each student toward the life career to which he aspires, and to locate, recognize, and develop what individual abilities he may possess and to help him overcome the problem of connecting himself happily and effectively with an active life in the world of affairs outside of school. Miss Iosey has done Kingsburg High School a great service in coordinating such a guidance system here. She has tried to help each student to be more intelligent in solving problems regarding his educational and vocational situation. Mr. Einar Peterson serves as the vice-principal of KI-IS. He has charge of keeping the attend- ance record, and he is advisor to the Board of managers, Besides all this, Mr. Peterson man- ages to teach four classes a day, ADMINISTRATION lj 1 ,Off A Tas,

Strong in this belief, they did much to give this new idea an opportunity to grow and flourish in this new land. Such leaders as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Iefferson were strong supporters of free public education. To assure this freedom and independence, and to guar- antee the support of free public education within our nation, many laws have been enacted by both state and national assemblies. From this humble beginning, America has given to the world the greatest institution for the benefit of mankind that any civilization has produced, Within this heritage, we of today must assume our responsibility in carrying forward this banner of liberty, so that the people of all nations shall know that the true spirit of freedom and independence still exists in the heart of every true American. You, of the Senior Class of 1947, as the heirs and possessors of this truly American ideal- the supporters of free public education for all - must take your place in the ranks of those who will pass this banner on to the future generations.
