O O f each For The Spirit Through rain or shine victory or sity cheerleaders keep on smiling These school spirit leaders inspire both the team and the crowd to join in their rhythmic chants At pep rallies homecoming and games the cheerleaders were al ways there to bring enthusisasm and talented entertainment to all They can also be seen at fun draisers selling cookies brownies soda to the hun spectators After months and months of practice the cheerleaders went to competition in Brentwood and did quite well Many other squads have switched over to military- 1 style cheering said co-captain Jeannine DiSilvestre. -I haven't, but that's what l really like about our team. We're so unique! The basketball season for Kings .--- Park was, quite frankly, a disappoint- -:,':1 4 f':,,'.V ing one. Their 2-18 record was not expected from a team with six return- P ing players. However, there were two brief shining moments for the team, 3 namely an overtime win against Bay , Shore and a last minute victory over 3 , Deer Park. Senior Kevin Sullivan was f-,r I - the star versus Bay Shore, as he sank f..',: ,. both the tying basket in regulation and ,,'V the winning one in overtime. Fellow senior, Brian Curley provided the her- -- oics against Deer Park by scoring the winning basket with just seven sec- onds remaining. A Curley the team s center also pro- . . vided offensive structure throughout the season with over ten points and eight rebounds per game. All League ' selection forward Mike Moser was an- . other board bruiser by averaging , above eight points and seven re- bounds per game. ln addition to Cur- 1 ley and Moser other regular starters were guard Rob Hogan and forward Lee Serravillo. FLY THE UNFRIENDLY SKIES: During a layup, Marc Durland may be meeting some imminent rejection by an incoming object. RING AROUND THE WAISTBAND: As Rob Hogan reaches a lofty altitude, an oppo- nent becomes deeply intrigued by his uniform.
