S miles, Spirit, and Style HALRIGHT YOU GUYSWRISE AND SHlNE!l! The members of started off the year with some of the most demanding workouts of their lives and at times Band Camp seemed more like B001 Camp! instead of having the tradi- tional five days alloted at South- ampton college, the girls had to learn the entire field show in only two and a half days. Their long hours of practice in the hot Au- gust sun paid off, for their feature number Big Spender was the dazzling highlight of the halftime shows during football season. Fall coach Mrs. lvers said she was es- pecially proud of the team's per- formance at the Hofstra Marching Band Festival. The end of football season brought mounting excitement and tryouts for the new basketball kickline. Over seventy girls tried out, but only the best twenty-five of these were chosen. And since more than half of the girls were returning seniors, the team was bound to be an outstanding one. So whether they were rowing through their famous Popeye routine, Wiping out at the Su- perdance assembly, or Y-E-A- H ing to their Do-Fiun- Run ! Biue Moon medley, the Fioyalettes captivated every audi- ence with their highstepping ener- gy and enthusiasm. This ls defl- nitely the most talented squad we've ever had, said winter coach Mrs. Schoch. With this in mind, and with help from chore- ographer Denise Rikker, the kick- line went to several LlKA compe- titions and brought home a third place trophy. Being a Hoyalette meant prac- ticing before and after school tand even at nightli, and enduring such hardships as crispy ears, the demerit system, and 5-6-7-8- WAlT!, but the Fioyalettes found that with the good times and the friendships shared, kickline was well worth their time and effort. this year's Fioyalettes Kickline V I vkackime E I FOOTBALL KICKLINE: Mrs. lvers, Laura Mastrangelo, Gina Carella, Laurie Costa, Meryl Kaye, Kelly Dempsey, Kelly Donato, Susan Slaght.Stacy Callandrella, Dina Mastrangelo, Peggy Spandonis, Deirdre Giliberti, Jennifer Farrell, Sharrie Piacenti.
