GOTTA TAKE A BREAK: Two of Kings Park's finest runners, Enez Lawrence and Nicole Lambros, show off their sleek outfits for pestering photographers. DON'T FORGET TO STRETCH: Before their events, the track trio of Karen Seb- besse, Nadine Grimm, and Diane Heraghty, do the ever-popular hurdler's stretch. AIRBOURNE: As track star Enez Lawrence does her impression of walking on air, she jumps to a record distance. FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF LIGHT: As Sue Duval rounds the final turn, the camera has a hard time freezing her at top speed. v earis' winter Track I Winter track is a harsh sport. While the races are indoors the training must be done outside and quite often it is cold or even snowing. This year s girls team was quite successful and they had a lot of fun with trips to such places as West Point and Ya e. This year s captains were seniors Nicole Lambros Enez Lawrence and junior Sue Duval. All league selections included Nicole Lambros Enez Lawrence and juniors Jessica Squillarini and Karen Sebbesse. Nicole Lambros also received All Confer- ence and All County honors as she tied the school 300 meter record. Karen Sebbesse also set a record this one in the race walk event while finishing eighth in the county. ln the league meet both the 4x4OO meters team of Sue Duval, Diane Heraghty, Enez Lawrence and Nicole Lambros and the 4x8O0 meters team of Kathy Williams, Nadine Grimm, Kathy Haven and Jessica Squillarini finished second overall. One of the track team's finest members, Enez Lawrence, was plagued early on in the season with a knee injury. But she came back to finish first in the Bishop Loughlin invitational and sixth at the Yale Invitational for long jumping. She is the county champ in the long jump, and has also qualified for both the state and national high school championships where she placed sixth and ninth respectively. Overall, the track girls met with great success during this prosperous season.

S miles, Spirit, and Style HALRIGHT YOU GUYSWRISE AND SHlNE!l! The members of started off the year with some of the most demanding workouts of their lives and at times Band Camp seemed more like B001 Camp! instead of having the tradi- tional five days alloted at South- ampton college, the girls had to learn the entire field show in only two and a half days. Their long hours of practice in the hot Au- gust sun paid off, for their feature number Big Spender was the dazzling highlight of the halftime shows during football season. Fall coach Mrs. lvers said she was es- pecially proud of the team's per- formance at the Hofstra Marching Band Festival. The end of football season brought mounting excitement and tryouts for the new basketball kickline. Over seventy girls tried out, but only the best twenty-five of these were chosen. And since more than half of the girls were returning seniors, the team was bound to be an outstanding one. So whether they were rowing through their famous Popeye routine, Wiping out at the Su- perdance assembly, or Y-E-A- H ing to their Do-Fiun- Run ! Biue Moon medley, the Fioyalettes captivated every audi- ence with their highstepping ener- gy and enthusiasm. This ls defl- nitely the most talented squad we've ever had, said winter coach Mrs. Schoch. With this in mind, and with help from chore- ographer Denise Rikker, the kick- line went to several LlKA compe- titions and brought home a third place trophy. Being a Hoyalette meant prac- ticing before and after school tand even at nightli, and enduring such hardships as crispy ears, the demerit system, and 5-6-7-8- WAlT!, but the Fioyalettes found that with the good times and the friendships shared, kickline was well worth their time and effort. this year's Fioyalettes Kickline V I vkackime E I FOOTBALL KICKLINE: Mrs. lvers, Laura Mastrangelo, Gina Carella, Laurie Costa, Meryl Kaye, Kelly Dempsey, Kelly Donato, Susan Slaght.Stacy Callandrella, Dina Mastrangelo, Peggy Spandonis, Deirdre Giliberti, Jennifer Farrell, Sharrie Piacenti.
