CREATING THE BALANC Yearbookability. lt was more than a sign in our window - and it didn't come easily. lt started last lvlarch, when none of us knew croppers from quad packs. Two workshops and a new publishing company later, the Kingsmen '88 staff was ready. We redecorated the room, reorganized everything, and faced the first deadline. lt meant staying after school every day funtil 11 p.m. when necessaryl, but somehow, we made it. And from there, it was still an uphill battle. Deadlines. Did a week ever go by when we weren't in the middle of one? ElLEENS! , we became accustomed to hearing before long. Terence and Sean supplied those half-liners for each picture. Jon was a one-man yearbook machine Qexcept headlinesl. Laurie and Ericka had the joy of finding things like the basket- weaving club. Biff bounced through the room, keeping everyone alert. Lisa and Michelle were buried in layouts where the pictures never quite seemed to fit. Dan, with the help of his Hshort but thick staff , sent the editors to Princeton tand didn't even get a lousy T-shirtl. Our beloved Tandys, Larry and Les , were under the vigilant pro- tection of Christy and her office , while the Larry Editor dazzled us with his typing speed. LAUGH, AND THE WORLD LAUGHS WITH YOU: Cry and you cry alone. Dawn Sherman prepares to spread a little joy to the world. ONLY 324 MORE! Working out, Tom Otten- walder pulls his weight. PUMPING IRON: Getting into tip top shape is Mike Director. Open the door to the stairwell that leads down to the weight room, and you'lI soon hear the echoes of grunting weight- lifters and clanking metal. The room is filled with determined individuals, some of them athletes working out with the team, some of them just students trying to get into shape. Each spring, the members of the weightlifting club particpate in a lift-a- thon to raise money for new weight room equipment. The success of past lift-a- thons has been transformed into new ma- chinery, new carpeting, and much more. Said Coach Blieberg, The weight room is there for anyone who wants to use it, and hopefully, it will be put to good use. The clown club spends their time clowning around, but with a purpose. This club is all about bringing laughter to peo- ple's lives. Painting their faces, and don- ning brightly colored clown costumes, the members of the clown club visit the hospi- tals and daycare centers. The officers of the clown club, Jim Knott and Dawn Sher- man have worked at organizing both the visits and coordinating the efforts of club members. As they juggle and smile, they bring laughter to many. They remind us that, all the world loves a clown! I Clown Club! weigmiming I
