Once again, the members of the Honor Society proved that their talents extend tar beyond the realm of aca- demics. Inspired by the leadership of officers Jon Goetz, Joel Rosenthal, Jeff Lackowitz, Rob Gordon, David Josefs- berg, Andrew Jacono, and Cindy Brody, they carried out several suc- cessful community service projects. Throughout the year, members donat- ed their time to tutor other high school students. At the Halloween party, Hon- or Society members donned creative costumes and ran the haunted house. Their major project was a Super Dance for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. - V alia HONOR SOCIETY SUPER DANCE RAISES 7500 DOLLARS FOR MUSCULAR DYS- TROPHY: A Good time was had by all: Joel Rosenthal, Mr. Merone, Melissa Waxman, and Ericka Abel: Scott Hughes, Cathy Saa- vedra, Stacy Sapienza, Ericka Howard and Deidre Giliberti, Steve Michael, Mr. Oldisg Maura McCauley: Lori Werkstellg Bob Ca- poraleg Steve Wolfe, Bill Nolan and John Carini. SUPER S 'ii A Superdance? At our school? For seven hours? Although these were some of the reactions heard when the Honor Society first starting planning, attitudes were quickly changed on January 20. That was the day that the Help Wipe-out MD assembly intro- duced the beach-like theme and en- couraged scores of students to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy as- soication. When the much awaited day finally arrived, over 300 energetic beach bums arrived in luau attire, sponsor sheets in hand. With meals, snacks, volleyball games, dancing and entertainers available throughout the night, there was not a moment without excitement. The festivities were brought to an end with the announce- ment that over S7000 had been raised.
