ommunity Spirit The sweet smells of cider, cookies, and cakes filled the psy- chiatric center on November 24. In a spirit of goodwill reminiscent of the pilgrims and the indians, the student council visted the hospital bringing the spirit of youth to the patients. Those who had adopted a special friend had a chance to share in their lives. The students went from ward to ward spreading holiday cheer. The patients greeted the festivi- ties with enthusiasm. The cele- bration gave everyone involved something to be thankful tor. The feeling of the seasonfwas warm. The patients did not want the students to leave: needless to say, the tea was a smashing suc- cess! The halls :resoundedrwith the sounds of hearts being lifted with the spirit of youth. HELPING STUDENTS: Volunteers bring holiday cheer to those less fortunate a Thanksgiving. T zip' ' M' T WE COME IN PEACE: As the bearers of goodwill, Indians Melissa Reilly and Lynda Nealis make their way to the turkey tea . TAKING INVENTORY: The pile of cans is a tribute to lnteract's success in getting do- nations, but can Greg Kunz ship it all? CLOWNING AROUND:Helping out at the psychiatric center is one Cara Sheppard's favorite activities.

Kxgtkg if With the threat of AlDS on the rise blood supplies dropped to a dangerous low Our students did their part to help ease the crisis with the December blood drive Chairperson Dawn Sherman and brave members of the senior class raised eighty pints of blood Only those over seventeen and over 110 pounds were permitted to give blood but assistance was provided by students of all donors were excited at the com munity service project while oth ers required constant coaxrng to fulfill their duty to charity You ll barely feel it nurses assured their wary victims as they held a gleaming needle that seemed a foot long Their courage was re warded with cookies juice and a chance to recuperate shapes, ragessand sizes. THE LOOK OF RELIEF:Taking a break al- ter giving blood ere donors Brian Bluemell, Patrick Touhy and Brian Kropp WATCH OUT FOR VAMPIFTES: Adding up every ounce of blood are Dawn Sherman, Erlcka Pegler and Kathleen Popko.
