How is it that the name of one building can conjure up so many ideas? To see it for yourself, just mention Kings Park High School to anyone who attended here ...you'll receive anything from a smile to a shrug to a sneer. With so many diverse attitudes and opinions, we have to wonder how it all came together. So how can we explain it? lt's like the number 88. Like the way we each found our own balance be- tween family and friends, aca- demics and athletics, work and relaxation, the number itself rep- resents a balanced image. lt's more than the numerical label of the graduating class: more than the number after eight-seven and before eighty-nine, it is a reflection of every person who has traveled these hallways, sat in these seats, shivered through classes on a wintery Monday morning, or sweat through Re- gents' weeks. Together we have shared the frustration...the anti- cipationmthe celebration...the education. What comes to mind first? The homework? The prac- tice? The Tech bus? The prom? Or maybe it was the times we shared away from all of that? Long walks onthe beach? Cruising with friends? Or just hangin' out ? See? lt's not just one thing, it's everything. The memories, the images: lt's you, me, him, her, them, us... The Kingsmen... Eighty-Eight. Like the colors in a rainbow, we are all a part of some greater whole, but we never lose touch with what makes us who we are. We are all a part of this balanced image.
