Upon entering the high school, a new student is inundated with the magna- mity of the situation. The sophomore is plagued with squadrons of hall ladies, waves of activities and hordes of superiors. Each new experience is makes a distinct impression on the untrained mind. lt is the sophomore that says f'ooooh when see- ing the shiny lab equipment and says ohhhh when seeing those protective frog glasses. They are the Hbeginnersf' the ones who spark the student body into mo- tion. lt is the sophomores who hold the belief that the world can still be conquered and they are the ones to do it. They are often the ones who bring new life to dying clubs. They are the ones who shout the loudest, cheer the hardest and smile the most. They are the ones who never stop caring. After a year filled with sweet sixteens, countless new activities, the wonders ofa learner's permit, and friend- ships forged with the once untouchable upperclassmen, sophomores prove that they are neither foolishly wise nor wisely foolish. Rather, they are the wisemen fool- ish enough to always keep trying. The balanced image would not be complete without them. SOPHOMORE PFtlDE:Showing the spirit of her class is Chris- tine Leudesdorf.
