Q L 15 X1 X V at 4, SX S Fix sl H! f' is X Q New and exciting feelings of school spirit are first introduced to us at Pep Rallies and Homecoming. As fervent cheers echo through the gymnasium, or as spirited cries emanate from the bleachers, the sophomores join the up- perclassmen and begin to feel the pride of being a part of Kingsmen spir- it. This common bond is bred at such occasions, and gives the sophomores an opportunity to be a part of the stu- dent body balance. Competing as a team at such events as interclass, different sophomore cliques unite to become a productive entity. Sensational feelings of oneness are developed, as all the students: scholarly or athletic, driven or carefree: all of them help the class of 1990 achieve a balanced image. SITTING ON A CAR: Michelle Vitole, Joan- na Vitale, Hope Miller and Debbie Flynn get into school spirit. 'i..,.-- T -ssft' 'ff i-rt - i s f Leimeider, Randi A T IT T' I-ami:-Q. Remember walking through the doors of the high school for the first iv Q time? Remember when the corridors twisted like unknown catacombs? Re- member buying class rings, school jer- nalia like there was no tomorrow? Remember being a sophomore'?...with new classes, new teachers, new friends. From the beginning, you're faced with new wonders such as sopho- more fdisjorientationu. You're not ask- ing for a direction in life, just some directions to the guidance office. The class bell rings - and suddenly the world of high school academics be- comes a startling reality. Each new stu- dent is faced by a series of lectures on scholastic responsibility - amazed by their teachers' incredible ability to give an ever increasing amount of home- work. For the first time, they find them- selves juggling a heavy course load with a new social life, sports, clubs, and an almost impossible number of new obligations. The world of extracurricular activities can be like a foreign country to the incoming sophomore, who, in junior Sift high, had much less to choose from. On every team, in every club, at every meeting, are the ubiquitous sopho- mores. They can be found milling around on the soccer field, in the year- book room, or cultivating friendships with upperclassmen who have cars.
