1967 — Mini skirts and boots are an important part of the fashion picture. 1968 — Joe Namath, New York Jets quarterback, wins Most Valuable Player award in the AFL. 1969 — Neil Armstrong walks on moon, July 20. 1970 — ‘Love Story” is first released starring Ryan O’Neal and Ali MacGraw 1971 — Heroin invades new consumer markets. 1972 — Mark Spitz wins seven gold metals for the U.S. at the Summer Olympic Games in Munich. 1973 — On May 22, Nixon states that he was not aware of the coverup of the Watergate break in. 1974 — Stevie Wonder resumes career after a near-fatal car accident near Salisbury, N.C. 1975 — Last U.S. troops withdraw from Vietnam 1976 — U.S.A.’s 200th Birthday. 1977 — Elvis Dies on August 16. 1978 — Class of ’78 graduates.
