Principal Looks Forward to thc New School Four long years-four years of tri- umphs and defeats, four years of a new school district and consolidation. You have lived through it all and have played a vital role in an unusually suc- cessful story. Your cooperative attitude has helped us endure adverse physical conditions in the light of phenomenal growth in educational development. A beautiful sight to behold has been the blending of three communities of young people into a far reaching educa- tional force. The unselfishness and hard work of the faculty and students have made this task easier. Our community is not the only consolidated community, but it certainly ranks near the top in cogent arguments for unity and esprit de corps. Much ground work has been laid in pre- paration for our move to the new high school next year. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will experience a new land- mark in this unusual occurrence. I trust you will cooperate to the fullest degree in helping to develop sound procedures that we may use for years to come. Seniors have led the spirit of Kings Mountain High School to its present fe- verish pitch. Your benignant acts have made school days for all more pleasant and you often have hidden your disap- pointments, signifying a fine quality of leadership. You will face many more chal- lenging conditions next year in college and in the work-a-day world. Your class has been a class of destiny-so continue to meet your numerous challenges face to face and let education be your soaring cynosure. -Harry E. Jaynes, Principal
