FOREWORD Nestling comfortably in the rolling hills of the lower Piedmont section of the Old North State stands our beloved school — Kings Mountain High. In the distance the lofty mountains slowly rise to majestic grandeur providing a back- drop of unmatched beauty for the ac- tivities of work and play enjoyed by us who proudly harken to the call of Mountaineer. Amid this splendor we find all too soon that our strivings for knowledge have become just a memory and four short years have receded into the past. Towering over us somewhat in the fashion of our neighboring peaks is the ever present challenge of education. Like a broad avenue that leads into the future our educational road leads up- ward culminating the joys of friend- ship, athletics, studies, and other ac- tivities into one shining pinnacle. Seek- ing for truth we climb the sparkling stairs that bring our footsteps closer to our various goals. May the scenes contained herein serve as a mirror to reflect the many pleasant hours spent within and around our school.
