In order for us to exercise intelligently our freedom of thought, it is not enough for us to know only that which lies within the boundaries of America. It is necessary for Americans also to know about the development of mankind in order to understand better the problems facing our contemporary world. Through the study of such courses as Civ- ics, Geography, American History, World His- tory, and Economics and Sociology, Kings Mountain High offers to its students an op- portunity to gain a thorough knowledge of our own country and a graphic picture of our world. We analyze the events of the past and their solutions in order to understand more fully the decisions that are made today. Mr. Donald L. Parker, A.B., Maryville; Economics and Sociology, Guidonce; Monogram Club, Head Coach Bas- ketball; Sophomore Advisor Mr. Fred Withers, B.A., Lenoir Rhyne; M.A., S.
