LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We the senior class of Nineteen Hundred and Forty-Nine being sound of mind do hereby make and publish this our last will and testament. To Kings Creek High School, we leave our loyalty and faith. We hope that the school will prosper as much in later years as it has in the last four. To Mr. Laxton, our faithful principal, in all respect and gratitude, we leave our most humble thanks for all the things he has done for us. His advice and sound instructions will live in our memory always. To our teachers, we leave our undying thanks for the instructions they have given us and the trouble they have taken, after class, to help us in our hard pull for an education. The following personages make these individual bequests: Ruth Ann Icenhour wills her giggles and witty ways to Mary Elizabeth Suddreth, with the understanding that she does not have to use them as olften as Ruth does. Mabel Wooten leaves her trim waistline to Doris Cline. Be sure to watch your diet Doris. Lilyan Icenhour leaves her love for an ex-soldier to Capitola Barnett. Henry Medlock leaves his athletic ability to Roy Stameyg he needs it. Kathleen Moore leaves her short curly h-air to Ethel Enloe. Dorothy Andrews leaves her quietness to Billy Ray Brown. Nelson Watson leaves his seat in the office at the typewriter during second period to anyone who wants it. Nancy Barlowe wills her athletic ability to :future basketball girls team, with wishes that some day they will win a game. Louise Harrison Sherrill leaves her ability to get married to Betty McGee. Here's wishing you soon get your man Betty. Tommy Laxton leaves his bashfulness and ability to blush to Jim Carlton. Bonnie Dillard wills her smile to Dawn Kincaid. 'flings Greek Qi 511 School I 'F CLASS PROPHECY The year is 1959 and so I board a rocket at Carolina Beach for my first trip to the moon. I remember ten years ago for then I was a senior at Kings Creek School. While looking through my purse for my ticket, I find no other than my old memory book. Yes!-funny how you treasure such a small book for so many years. Zip! Only twenty-four hours later I am on one of the beautiful crescents of the moon. With my memory book still in hand I reach for my high powered telescope, determined to look upon all my old classmates, and see what changes have been wrought in the past ten years. Looking closely I see a brunette coming from a beauty salon. Who should it be but Louise Harrison Sherrill? And who should be manager af the salon, but Bonnie Dillard? Now I focus my telescope on Raleigh and I am immediately attracted to a large building with neon lights. Looking closer I see Clark Dancing School flashing on and off. Who should the -teacher be but Lilyan Icenhour? Further into Winston-Salem I see Dan Carlton wearing a white uniform swings ing into a large building with the sign bearing the name of Carlton's Pharmacy. At last 'my home town Lenoir is in focus. At the foot of Hibriten is a tiny bunga- low and lying in the yard is a child. His mother is the former Kathleen Moore. Hd favors Gerald Lackey. I see a large plane taxiing into the airport at Asheville, and stepping out of it is the stewardess, Nancy Barlowe. Who is that tall naval officer? I should have known that it could be no other than Nelson Watson. Looking towards Charlotte I see a large court house. Who is the lawyer working on a divorce case? Garland Kirby of course. I look further on down to the University of North Carolina. Who is that talking to a cute blond on the campus but Henry Medlock. Who owns that big garage near Baden? It must be Johnnie Joines, for I see Joines Garage written on a neon sign. Looking towards Hickory I see a big bank. Behind the presidents' desk is Tommy Laxton. And his secretary is Mabel Wooten. While gazing again toward my old home town, I see Betty Lackey teaching the first grade. X Further on down the Wilkesboro road I see Dorothy Andrews watching her two children play. Surely someone is missing. As I gaze northward I find him, Bobby Lackey is en- Kineefihg a bridge on a highway connecting Boone and Blowing Rock. I regretfully say my -time is gone and these pleasant views must fade away. But what 2 YIHPPY diy I have spent with my classmates of '49!
