Our Cheer and Pom girls do a lot to build a feeling of pride in our town and in our school. The cheerleaders, under sponsor Mrs. janet Conn, make spirit posters, dress for game days, and cheer for our basketball Linda Houston, one of our new teachers, worked with the pom this year, helping them work out new routines and taking them to away games. In addition to cheering and entertaining the crowds at -A, sporting events, the girls marched for the first time, representing KJHS, in the Andy Cheer 8r Pom and football teams. The tryouts for the baseball team are especially competitive, with almost 100 boys trying out for 16 spots on the team. Last season, the team had a great finish, losing only one game in the second half of the season. Coach Steve Pierce hopes this year's team picks up right where they left off.
