For students who would like to work or travel south of the border, there's no other class as practical as Spanish. Mrs. Holland works hard with her classes to help them learn the vocabulary and grammar of Spanish, so that they can understand and speak the language properly. She also shares lessons on Spanish and Mexican culture to help students learn about the customs and culture of Spanish-speaking people. The most enjoyable lesson of all is making - and then breaking - an authentic pinata at Christmas time. Chess is like learning a new language too - a language of logic. Mr. Dearborn teaches his students basic rules and strategy, and then they practice, practice, practice. The students compete in class tournaments and the best players will go on to the State Chess Tournament. 62 Spanish and Chess ils..,,P QQ -QQ A PM 'V' 'Rav' J 1,3-una- ': ,gh 4 'Q Y. 6 3 sr J..
