KGHE IGALISMAN TN Kingman High Debate Team of 1929 EBATING at K. H. S. in 1050 attracted a numher of underelassmen who have gained valuahle experience that will help them hring honor to the school in future forensic activities. As a memhcr of the Illinois State High School Dehate League, the Kingman teams competed in contests with the dehaters from East Peoria and Eureka High Schools. ln hoth contests the Kingman affirmative team was victorious hy unanimous decisions of the judges. The negative team, although not always victorious, also made a very ereditahle showing, The oflicial dehate question for 1931! was, Resolved: That the puhlic should retain ewnership of, develop. and operate the principal sources of hydro-electric power in the United States. Memhers of the Kingman dehate team for 1930 include: Aiiirmative Frances Fisher, '30, Norman Sehlegel, '32, and Harold Livingston, '32g Negative--Richard Slotter, '32, Phoehe Palmer, '31, and Earl Gardner, 'TIL Timekeepers-Doris Kepple, and Doris Dixon. The dehaters were coached hy Miss Bertha Berman. Considering the fact that five experienced dehaters will return to comprise next years squad, prospects for the future are especially hright, and it is hoped that K. H. S. will continue the success it has achieved in forensics in the past. Page 61
