N the fall of 1927, when Miss Hedstrom shouted, Contact, and Mr. Iler gave our propellor a whirl, we, 54 strong, started on our fourfyear flight. We encountered no serious air pockets until june, when examinations made our course seem difficult. As our tedious grind nearly exhausted our fuel tanks, we stopped off to refuel at Party Ports, and Athletic Fields, and had many happy times together. Before taking off Mrs. Durrell helped us examine our plane, and found everything running smoothly. During the second year of our flight nine of our memhers dropped off. The girls performed fine harrel rolls and other stunts at the annual Kid Party. At the end of that year we stopped off at Promland and Fairland. We felt we had covered much ground. Thirtyffive were on the plane when we started with Mr. Baymiller, our new pilot, at the controls. XVith Miss Berman as assistant pilot, we sped ahead, distinguishing our' selves in athletics, dehating, music, and scholarship. Only one year remained of our four, in our proposed flight. We traveled at an excessive rate of speed. finding our last lap most difficult, hut still eager to attain our goal. The plane swerved slightly when we found Mrs. Coale at the controls hut swiftly righted itself. Thus far we had heen successful in overcoming all ohstaeles in our path and looked forward to the future without fear. The second semester we detoured hack, letting Mrs. Coale land, Mae again taking the controls. Our last stops were the Senior Play, the greatest success of the Class of '30, and Class Night. At last we saw our goal appriiaehing-growing clearer and elearer until at last we volplaned to our final landing placefGraduation. -Ruth fuclg. Page I 5'
