Shirley was our class valedictorian, recipient of the Reader's Digest Award, 3 scholarship to Indiana State Teachers College, and the an- nual D.A.R. Award. Shirley, we are proud of you. Dick was not only the salutatorian of his class hut also the recipient of the Gannett Award presented by the Danville Commercial News for scholastic ability, newshoy capahil- ity, participation in extracurricular activities. and standing in the community. Only those boys who have been newsboys are eligible for this award. Dick has been the Danville Com- mercial newshoy since 1951. At present he plans to attend Purdue University.
