He served in the Kingfisher school system for 37 years. He began teaching Vocational Agriculture in Kingfisher in 1944. While serving as Vo-Ag teacher, he produced 28 American Farmers-the National record. He became principal of KHS in 1964, retiring in 1981. He has given our school overwhelming support in every activity and has been an addition to our school from the very start. Even though Mr. Howell is retired, he continues to be of help to the students of KHS. Mr. Howell will never be completely out of the school system and will always be in the hearts of the people within it. Students I want to congratulate the K.H.S. student body for an excellent school year. The 1981-1982 school year has been an outstanding one for our school. Each of you have had a part in making this year one to remember. I am proud of you for what you have accomplished. Most of all, I am proud of you for your character, integrity, and desire to not be just average. I wish each of you continued success. SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT First Row: Burl Bartlett, Thomas Sandefur, and James Grellner. Second Row: Virginia Hellwege, Harold Hogan Vernon Mueggenborg, and Jimalee Lucas. 60 DAVID RUTLEDGE PRINCIPAL As I look back on my first year as Kingfisher High School principal, I can truly say it has been a memorable one. Students at K. H. S. are some of the finest to be found anywhere. I believe our staff of teachers and support personnel combine to be a top quality group. I will always believe that we must strive to become better. To accept the “status quo” is to become apathetic. Our programs of study must be continually examined and improved. Progress is only accomplished through forward movement toward a goal. We at K.H.S. set our goals high. I want to commend you, the student body of 1981-1982, for the outstanding year that we have had. May God be with each of you.
